Flight Mechanics: Are there MMOs with satisfying, fluid mobility, flight and sightseeing? Is Revelations Online the best example?

Hey all, the meat of the question is in the title. Are there MMO's on the market which feature fluid motions (at least outside of combat), include flight and contain places that look visually impressive and worth visiting?

Hoping to hear other examples, and discuss importance and styles of movement / flight systems in various MMO's. My wish is to find a MMO that would feature a smooth exploration of gorgeous scenery, where moving in-game would feel pleasant and not just a prolonged exercise in slow running or teleporting to a destination.

So far, I am yet to find an MMO that does movement and flight as satisfying as Revelations Online (RO) has done. To evade potential side-discussion, majority of the gameplay and story of RO is of "questionable" quality compared to other MMO's, and my experience with it comes from it's first launch in western market, which wasn't all that great.

However, the dashing, jumping and gliding mechanics, even before you get your first wings… It was a breath of fresh air to experience inside a MMORPG. I remember spending a bunch of time just playing with the system, learning to move in the air. Travelling places was satisfying. Flying was faster, although slightly less responsive than the raw feeling of mobility of a character without wings, but it still was very well executed.

I played RO together with friends, and we took time to fly around the map, finding beautiful places to visit, regardless of queslines.

examples There were a few places we kept returning to, especially to the giant pink-leafed tree at night, when the stars would shine – don't have a screenshot for it, but might find one later.

RO is not without it's faults, visually – the beautiful spots are usually surrounded with relatively boring vistas with disappointing textures, and the number of breathtaking places is finite, but I remember the game fondly despite all of it's mechanical shortcomings, so they did do something right.

The closest second contender would probably be Blade & Soul (B&S), which has similar movement feel to it, but it's gliding feels slower, and the stamina systems limits the experience, but it's the closest I've found yet.

I've spent a couple of months in RO until the group I started with started to break up, due to other faults of the game, but a couple of us keep considering to go back. In contrast, I've played B&S but for a couple of days, and my opinion of it is incomplete.

The top MMO's of the market do not usually have such mobility (I'd guess because of mechanical challenges it represents, and a need for different level design). Perhaps someone can offer a game I should try with the features that I hope for 😉 Where else have you seen flight done right?

I'm guessing my best bet is to comb the Wuxia genre for more examples?

How is mobility and flight (if it exists) in your favorite game?

p.s. for context:

*To date, I tried (for varying amounts of time) WoW, Lineage 2, Riders of Icarus, Terra, ArcheAge, Black Desert Online (trial), Final Fantasy 14, Guild Wars 2, Bless Online, Elder Scrolls Online, RO, B&S, and some others, if this helps to narrow down potential suggestions.

As for overall quality, I'd say my favorite MMO is FF14 with GW2 coming at a close second, but neither has the fluidity of motion I am hoping to find. (I'd say GW2 has better fluidity than FF14, as FF14 is designed to be slower and more static in it's movement)*
