I seem to be quite alone in this opinion but a new game plus just makes the game's replay value skyrocket for me. To order to play the game again with all your equipment and your own specific playstyle which you developed through hours and hours of playing the game normally, is an awesome experience in itself and affords an entirely new perspective for the player.
Even in games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance, I still feel like a new game plus would be even more valuable for a game like this. Even though people say the whole point of the game is to start as a blacksmith's son who knows nothing and evolve into a mean killing machine by the end of it, I get that, I do but the new game plus mechanic is outside of the normal game if you understand what I mean. Like when you finish a game, take AC Revelations for example, you want to be able to go back and play the game free roam and do side quests and stuff right? But strictly speaking, within the context of the game this would not be possible if I remember right Desmond found a way of out of the nexus or something but there was no reason for Desmond to continue reliving Ezio's later memories in life he had already accomplished his goal. But just because it does not make contextual sense to be able to go back to your game, does this mean that you can no longer play the game freestyle after you complete the story for the sake of immersion or "making sense"? Of course not. That's pretty lame in my opinion but my point is new game plus should still be there for the same reason. It's outside the normal context game.
In games like Dying Light, Spider-Man, even more so than others Sekiro, as well as others like Batman Arkham City and Knight and God of War, the chance to play the game again after having established exactly how I specifically want to play the game with what build and equipment I have finally made solid is something I appreciate so much. I really wanted to play Days Gone in a new game plus playthrough but I could not do so because it was included in an update file which I was unable to download because my PS4 did not have enough space. It was like close to 50 gigs or so that update file. Ain't nobody got time for that. I just wish more games included it like the Far Cry series. Far Cry desperately could benefit from a new game plus.
I know that there are a lot of people who couldn't care less but I really don't think that adding a new game plus mode in any game would be technically strenuous from a developer point of view, would it??? I really don't think so but I'm not sure so I'm open to information about this. I would think it's very simple from a developer perspective to add it into the game. And I really think it should be included in the version 1.00. Like in Spider-Man, God of War and Days Gone it was included only with an update. My internet is pretty bad sometimes and I have a lot of space issues and since I don't play online much at all I don't care at all to download update files unless they're absolutely necessary such as in the case of No Man's Sky.
