I have a decent bit of spare time since I have no social life, and I'm looking for a good MMO to just pour myself into. To give some perspective as to what I may like, here is what I've played in the past.
Destiny 1 is my all-time favorite game. I'm not sure if it technically classifies as an MMO or not, but I poured my heart and soul into that game. Honestly if they re-released it on PC my life would be complete. The raids really made this game for me.
I played quite a bit of Guild Wars 2 up until they started releasing expansions. I would probably still be playing it to this day, but in my opinion if just feels unnecessarily diluted (is that the word I'm looking for?). There was just so so so many crafting ingredients and drops that it got to the point where I just didn't really know what I was playing for anymore.
Destiny 2 was amazing until you made it to the end game because, well, there wasn't an endgame. You just play for cosmetics. The first Division was the same exact thing.
I've put 20 hours into Warframe, but the learning curve is just astronomical. I had no idea what I was doing for any part of the 20 hours, I just flew my ship to places, killed enemies, and got materials that I had no idea what to do with. I wouldn't be opposed to giving this a try again if it's worth it, but at this point I have to be insanely far behind.
I really enjoyed Neverwinter, but I played it on Xbox and when I swapped over to PC I didn't really want to restart. Apparently now its riddled with micro-transactions and an unholy amount of currencies.
I have Black Desert, but apparently it's so pay-to-win "you can equip your wallet as a main weapon" according to a steam review.
I've been playing Wynncraft recently which is surprisingly fun, but there's a lack of direction which weakens the game for me. It just kinda drops you into the world and says "Alright, figure it out!". I've wandered into super high level zones that were right next to level 5 zones. It's just kind of scattered. I spend more time trying to figure out where to go for quests than I do actually completing them.
I'm sorry that I've typed so much, I'm just tired of scouring the internet for a new game. Every one I find has an abhorrent amount of negative reviews claiming pay-to-win so I don't bother installing them. If you know of any games I might even mildly enjoy, please let me know. There's gotta be one out there. Thanks!
