Hey there, I'm looking for hidden gems. Basically MMO's or MMORPG's with unique features that set them apart from other MMO's. Preferably an MMORPG. Preferably free to play, or buy to play. Not subscription.
I've played most of the big named MMORPG's (except ESO) but Guild Wars 2 was the one that stuck with me for quite a few years. Of course, I retired from that game sometime last year to play a game called World's Adrift. I loved the user created content and the ability to build an airship. Flying from island to island, looking for loot and old schematics was really cool. Sadly, the developers of that game are still having problems dealing with the SpatialOS engine so new content comes very, very slowly. I got tired of waiting.
I'm currently playing a Ragnarok Online private server and have been playing it for roughly a year now. Thing is I built my gaming PC to play high end games, and yet here I am playing a two decade old MMORPG. Nothing wrong with that, as I hold Ragnarok Online near n' dear to my heart but I could use some high-end scenery. 🙂
I love freedom, and exploration. I love having multiple classes to play as and being able to build those classes in different ways, just like Ragnarok Online. I love action combat and third person like Guild Wars 2 and isometric games such as Exanima, and Kenshi. Path of Exile didn't click for me surprisingly, not sure why. Just saw the trailer for A:IR and that looked really cool.
I'm not really a fan of having to find players to run dungeons or specific content to get content specific gears and I'm not a fan of equipment breakage for refining. Probably one of the things I hate the most in games like Ragnarok Online and Black Desert Online. I could never get the Ascended gear in Guild Wars 2 because of the absurd grind for the materials needed to create it. I don't really like grinding, but I don't mind it if it's a tolerable kind of grind. Not the ''grind 6-10 hours+ for 1 level'' kind of grind.
I'm too old for that.
P.S.- I also don't like P2W stuff.
