I used to be an avid WoW player. From 2007 to 2013 I’ve played World of Warcraft for nearly 20k hours, mainly focusing on high-end raiding. I quit gaming altogether for a couple of years and after that I tried mmo’s like GW2 & Tera on PC and FFXIV on PS4, but I couldn’t really get into the endgame content after reaching max level.
Because of personal reasons, I don’t want to get immersed into WoW specifically again, and also I’ve heard the game has changed a lot over the last 5 years?
I’d like some recommendations on mmorpg’s that can get me hooked again. Things I enjoy most are:
(PC/PS4 only) – PvE. Preferably content that doesn’t require the commitment of dozens of hours a week. Just casual raiding or challenging dungeons – I prefer tab-targetting over action combat – Mild lore/story driven games – Socializing!! I’m a sucker for chatting and playing together with other folks and I really miss my WoW guildies and friends I met along the way. – Prefer fantasy/magic over shooters or the like – Most of all: an active playerbase (I’m from Europe if it matters) – My pc specs are decent and my budget isn’t too restricted (monthly fee games are not excluded)
I hope there are people willing to sell me their favorite games! I look forward to trying out something new!
