I am somebody who has been disenchanted with MMOs for the past 10+ years. I tried almost all the recent ones, and I could have cared less about them. The last MMO I really enjoyed was Classic WoW. I played on Nostalrius until the day it was shutdown, and am intrigued about there being live servers released by Blizzard.
However, I'm here to talk about Dark Age of Camelot and an upcoming freeshard. Dark Age of Camelot for those who are not acclimated, was the second most popular MMO before WoW was released in 2004. The game has 3 factions/realms, roughly 40 classes, and is focused around RvR or PvP combat at max level. The original game was like most MMOs pre-WoW, a seemingly indefinite grind. The Phoenix freeshard that's launching soon helps do away with a lot of the mundane grinding, and lets players experience RvR and endgame sooner.
I actually think this server is more fun than Nostalrius was and I played there for a long time. If you missed out on the chance to play Classic DAOC during its prime, well now you can discover what its mythical PvP was all about.
I've linked below the Launch Trailer for Phoenix since its releasing next month. If you have any questions I can probably help answer them in the thread. Launch is coming soon on January 12th. Phoenix is expecting thousands of players at launch, and more are always welcome. Also, Phoenix has nothing to do with Uthgard, and has an entirely separate vision.
