So, I have some funds in my wallet and figured I'd take advantage of this sale going on. I was going to buy Shadow of the Tomb Raider and finish the trilogy out since there's a complete edition now that was in this sale, but apparently the little text that says 'This price available until 8/20' was a lie? Shouldn't have waited til I finished what I was already playing to pick it up, I guess. Also, sorry, I really usually don't make posts like this, but I'm really going back and forth between all these titles.
RE2 has been on my to play list since it launched, but a two pack of the base versions of Origins/Odyssey is the same price currently. I know there's (much) more playtime in the Assassin's Creed pack, and that it's probably the better all around deal, but none of the DLCs are included, and I never really played any previous Assassin's Creed that much (don't judge me haha, it's just one of those things that never happened). I am a fan of The Witcher series/God of War etc, how is the gameplay/combat of the two Assassin's Creed titles compared to something like those? Am I missing out big time by just getting the base games, or is both for $35 for a newcomer to the series too good to pass up? I'm interested in Days Gone solely due to it being an exclusive and the fact that I've heard a lot of the launch issues have been ironed out, but I'm not sure if it's the better choice over RE2 for the genre, except open map, RPG elements, and total playtime?
I'm a fan of story driven games with solid combat mechanics and I do enjoy RPG elements, and while I know these are all pretty different titles in terms of setting and tone, it's a tough pick, and I really only want to use the $50 sitting in my wallet already, I have enough of a backlog that I don't want to dip into 'real' cash.
On a side note, if Devil May Cry 5 was added into the lineup, would that change your opinion? I have the HD Collection/4 in my library, started playing through the HD collection a bit but got sidetracked by Spiderman haha. I figure since I have 3 1/2 DMC games to get through before hitting 5, I can probably hold off til I finish the previous games and snag it later at a similar price.
Gonna grab Metro Redux alongside whichever of the above I end up picking as well. Or, if there's a gem of a game(s) I missed that add up to $50, let me know about them too! Thanks for the opinions!
