Who is the most Super of all the Marios? It's crazy, I know, but
We have an initial Group Stage comprised of 14 groups of 4 before we go into ye olde Double Elimination Tournament. The list of Marios came from the Super Mario Wiki, the definitive source of all Mario information and the final word, the highest authority, which none of us shall question.

- Boat Mode (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door) – allows Mario and his partners to traverse across water unscathed
VS.
Big Mario (Super Mario Maker) – lets Mario break blocks by running into or jumping on them; defeat most enemies in one jump
Group C – Losers Round 2
- Builder Mario (Super Mario Maker) – swing a hammer; create and use Builder Boxes as platforms
VS.
Boomerang Mario (Super Mario 3D Land) – throw boomerangs; pick up items/defeat enemies from a distance
Group D – Losers Round 2
- Cloud Mario (Super Mario Galaxy 2) – make cloud platforms and step over them
VS.
Costume Mario (Super Mario Maker) – Super Mario's abilities but with Small Mario's size; changes Mario's sprite to look like various characters
Group E – Losers Round 2
- Flying Squirrel Mario (New Super Mario Bros. U) – glide; cling walls; jump while gliding

Flying Mario (Super Mario Galaxy) – fly; attract Coins and star bits
Group F – Losers Round 2
- Frog Mario (Super Mario Bros. 3) – swim faster; go through currents; high jump; run on water

Ice Mario (New Super Mario Bros. Wii) – shoot Ice Balls
Group G – Losers Round 2
- Ice Mario (Super Mario Galaxy) – walk or skate across water and lava; cling onto and Wall Jump off of waterfalls; fire and ice immunity

- Metal Mario (Super Mario 64) – invincibility; underwater breathing; increased strength and weight
