A big difference in population distribution between China and the United States is that China has vast rural areas and more than half of the agricultural population. Since nuclear strikes are concentrated in military targets and industrial cities, a significant proportion of rural and remote towns are not directly hit. After the mutual destruction of China and the United States, those surviving rural areas could not get instructions from their superiors because of the collapse of the communication network. Initially, they will form large-scale or small-scale autonomous settlements under the existing system (township or county-level party committees) (equivalent to returning to the feudal era). The foundation of the entire army in the 1950-60s provided basic protection for these settlements.
Due to the reduction of grain production caused by nuclear winter and radiation dust, there will be repeated mutual competition and annexation between these agricultural settlements. Some strong settlements may unify some areas to form a relatively complete political power. The party committee structure is the backbone, and the lack of parts is complemented by the traditional system (correctly the system represented in the drama). For example, the supreme leader of a political power may be called "the Party branch secretary (Zhi Shu)", and there are two military leaders called the "left and right generals (Zuo You Da Jiang Jun)". Civilian officials are also mixed with titles such as military counsellor (Jun Shi) and directors (Zhu Ren).
Survivors of big cities live in facilities such as subways and air defenses. Because it is not the isolation mechanism of the American vaults, the living environment is obviously worse than that of rural areas, and the survivors' cultural level is relatively high and not easy to control, the old system will not last too long. After the collapse of the old system, it may be like the Metro 2033, according to the formation of several factions to each other, but because of the line structure of civil air defense, it is difficult to have a complete unity. Decades later, as the danger of radiation on the surface declines, the descendants of urban survivors will gradually return to the ground and begin a ruin-picking life similar to the survivors of North America.
Those small and medium-sized urban survivors who have been hit by a certain degree may be scattered in the form of fleeing due to lack of sufficient means of production, absorbed by the nearby rural areas, or forced to survive as a criminal; the surviving army will maintain under the existing command system. For a long period of time, some of the troops may be gradually absorbed by nearby agricultural settlements through paid protection, and others will become organized raiders, and a part of luck may be evolved into warlords through the conquest of force.
In the more than 100 years after the great war, there will be hundreds of county-class regimes in China (depending on the level of transportation and communication). The regimes are full of strange regimes, fighting for some relatively fertile agricultural areas. The survivors of urban survivors will gradually migrate to a limited agricultural life with the urgency of resources. They also use the industrial products from the city to trade with agricultural areas and re-create the profession of traders.
The cultural characteristics of China in the 1960s will gradually become alienated under the spread of generations. For example, the "Revolutionary Committee" may gradually become a religious group, spreading the "great mentor", "great leader" and "great helmsman" of the Trinity God (this great god has many other names in different sects such as the most red red sun, the people's savior, and so on), doctrine called "quotations", the doctrines include the fact that one day will be the final battle with the devils such as "Imprelimus"(Imperialists) and "kapitalsnius"(Capitalists). Its religious leaders are called "secretaries", missionaries are called "intellectuals", religious sites are called "poiltic learning rooms", etc…
