started logging the various loot drops my character gets to see what are the chances or are there patterns indicating some bias. Here are some highlights of my drops so far. PC, Luck 4.
(Note that the sample size is relatively small at the moment.)
There seems to be an odd bias towards certain items but the loot star chances are better than I thought before. Since this is one character, there is no way to know if there is a "seeded" RNG involved.
Enemy – drop star distribution
Unfortunately, a 3* enemy is not guaranteed to drop a 3* anymore since December 11 for sure. So what is the distribution?
Enemy 2*: 57.14% for 1*, 42.86% for 2*
Enemy 3*: 37.04% for 1*, 22.22% for 2*, 40.74% for 3*
Overall chances: 85.19% for 1*, 6.67% for 2*, 8.15% for 3*
Item type distribution
We know that about half of the loot pool is armor and only quarter of the pool is ranged weapons.
Legendary prefix distribution
There are a lot of prefixes and there are distinct ones per item type. Here are some that popped up dis-proportionally often, such as Assassin's (+ damage to players, -damage from players).
Assassin's: 6.67% of total, 5.59% when on Armor
Hunter's: 5.93% of total, 2.96% when on Ranged
Ghoul slayer's: 5.93% of total, 3.7% when on Armor
Exterminator's: 5.93% of total, 3.7% when on Armor
Weightless: 5.19% of total
Troubleshooter's: 5.19% of total, 2.96% when on Armor
Mutant's: 5.19% of total, 2.22 when on Armor/Melee
Mutant slayer's: 5.19% of total, 2.96% when on Armor
Furious: 5.19% of total, 2.96% when on Ranged
Zealot's: 4.44% of total, 2.96% when on Armor
Bloodied: 4.44% of total, 3.7% when on Melee
Regenerating: 4.44% of total
Vanguard's: 2.96% of total
Instigating: 2.96% of total, 2.96 when on Melee
When looking at just the Armor prefixes, the top drops are:
Ghoul slayer's: 6.85%,
When looking at just the Melee prefixes, the top drops are:
When looking at just the Ranged prefixes, the top drops are (remark: the disproportionately small number, 16% of ranged drops makes this only sample of 22 items):
Armor types and parts
The loot table is filled with armor parts as there could be 5 pieces per base armor type; one gets armor more than half the time.
The body part type seems to have an interesting bias towards Chest Piece, as if whenever a (cut?) legendary helmet would drop, it is turned into a Chest Piece.
Chest Piece: 31.51%,
Left Arm: 16.44%,
Left Leg: 19.18%,
Right Arm: 16.44%,
Right Leg: 16.44%.
Lastly, here are some of the the concrete item names occurring:
Wood Chest Piece: 4.44%
Raider Left Arm: 3.70%
Combat Armor Chest Piece: 3.70%
Wood Left Arm: 2.96%
Ski Sword: 2.96%
Raider Chest Piece: 2.96%
Pool Cue: 2.96%
Leather Left Leg: 2.96%
Western Revolver: 2.22%
Rolling pin: 2.22%
Robot Right Leg: 2.22%
Raider Left Leg: 2.22%
Mr. Handy Buzz Blade: 2.22%
Leather Right Arm: 2.22%
Leather Chest Piece: 2.22%
Combat Armor Right Leg: 2.22%
There seems to be an odd bias towards certain items but the loot star chances are better than I thought before (i.e., 90%, 9%, 1%).
