edit: I had no idea this in character text looked pink on the desktop, sorry for your eyes but Im probably not going to go back adn change it :/.
I moved from the farm towards the town of Grafton, keeping in mind to stay low so I don't run into any more mutants.
crashing noises and gunfire could be heard from afar. I turned into an alleyway and, there he is! Just like the stories! The description is spot on!
The Grafton Monster!! Fighting those mutants.
But he was close, too close. Nearly found me hiding behind a car while I was trying to observe him
The mutants didn't stand a chance, his hulking mass ripping through the green refrigerators like they were nothing
not wishing to engage the first cryptid I've found after so long, I moved to a better vantage point on the rooftops
there I watched as he thrashed about, spewing black sludge with every ground pound and throwing it like a projectile
The mutants shear quantity was wearing down TGM, so, I took out their rooftop snipers to give it a better fighting chance and to give me more time to study him.
Without the roof support, the ground troops were easy fodder for TGM.
once they were put down I continued to watch TGM thrash about, almost in pain. I noticed he had roots or branches growing inside and out of him. We're these apart of him? Or just some parasitic creature that was latched on?
sadly I'll never get the answers to these questions because, amidst the roars and thrashing, another hulking figure came out from the alleyways. Not more mutants but instead a man piloting one of those Powerful Armors
before I could yell out to stop the man he ran over, took a shooters stance, and let loose on the poor beast, ripping it to shreds with his incendiary rounds
screaming at the man I come down from the rooftops
"YOU FOOL! WHAT ARE YOU DOING! THE THINGS WE COULD HAVE LEARNED ABOUT THAT BEAST! WHERE HE COMES FROM!? WHAT HE CALLS HOME!! AND YOU, YOU, YOU JUST CUT HIM DOWN LIKE ONE REAPS WHEAT!!"
he answered me back "hey, uhm...I don't know if you've noticed but the worlds went to shit."
I snapped back "no I just always assumed all of the water was toxic and irradiated" "and that all the people around here are just skeletons"
"THAT DIDN'T MEAN YOU HAD TO KILL IT! IT WASN'T HURTING YOU SO WHY!?"
"right...so, there's lots of nasty critters running around. So, if I see a monster I shoot a monster." He said almost exasperated.
stunned to silence by his attitude that, unfortunately, made all too much sense to me. I slumped down in defeat and he just scoffed at me and walked off
I stood after several minutes, thinking it'll be fine I'll just take a sample of The Grafton Monster and analyze it back at my hideaway.
before I could finish brushing off my pants a gurgling and rumbling sound began to resonate from the creature and he dissolved into a pile of black goo.
"ok fine, weird, but fine. I'll just collect some of this goo." But The goo very quickly began to evaporate before I could contain any of it
Falling to my knees once more, I began to laugh hysterically towards the heavens
"a real, true cryptid, not one of these freaks, but a genuine monster of folklore. And it is gone, slipped through my fingers like dust caught in a stiff breeze." I bellowed at the sky.
So I moved from the alien blaster to Grafton and once I got there the Grafton parade event started up.
I figured this was the perfect time to throw some Grafton monster into the story. I was planning on keeping TGM alive and waiting out the timer, probably failing the event but I wanted to see what would happen.
After I killed off the super mutants attacking him I got some good rooftop shots with the pearly peepers.
Then a level 250+ dude rolled up and took out TGM with an explosive gun before I could do anything.
I was looking for my mic to say something but the guy just left.
So I figured I'll add/embellish the encounter to the tale.
That's it for today, see you next time cryptid hunters.
