I can’t even recall the last time I used expeditions in the game. Farming for resources is very time consuming and expeditions are “supposedly” a good in-game feature for farming, yet it’s not.

Expeditions need some improvements. Most of the times the items we get are not worth sending our heroes away in expeditions. Here’s how I think expeditions can be improved:

  1. First of all, get ride of the “chance of success.” expeditions should never fail. It’s really discouraging to send heroes away if there’s a chance of failure. Sometimes even at %90+ chance of success, expeditions can still fail. I understand that it’s a chance but it’s not necessary.

  2. Most of the times we get one-star and two-star items that we don’t need. A PL 155 “material arts and crafts” gives copper and rusty mechanical parts, which is totally unjustified. Instead the rarity of items we get should only depend on the overall PL of the heroes that we use in the expeditions. If use maxed out heroes in an “it’s a probably a trap” expedition, you should never get low-tire traps.

  3. The quantities of items that we get should be determined by the duration of the expedition. Expeditions that last for long time should give more items than the short expeditions.

  4. Get rid of the survivors expeditions. You barely get an epic survivor from expeditions. Yes, before you reach PL131 you might need to recycle them for training manuals and maybe for the collection book. But after that, there’s no point of using them.

  5. Add heroes and schematics expeditions.

  6. Add new expedition locations from quests that we get. Crackshot’s Neighborhood for example, which is the best location to farm for coal. And once frostnite (if not sooner) leaves Crackshot’s Neighborhood will be gone too. So if added , expeditions in Crackshot’s Neighborhood should give coal.

  7. Improve trap expeditions. We should be able to get legendary and epic traps depending on the heroes PLs.

  8. I kinda touched on this point previously but replace “crafting supplies “ expeditions with more specific ones. Like crystal quartz expedition.

  9. Add ammo expeditions.

  10. Increase the amount of wood, stone and metal that can be obtained for high PL expeditions.

  11. Remove hero requirements and replace them with quests, like kill XX amount of husks or finish a daily quest.

These ideas might a bit over the top, but farming during missions is not an option. We have to farm in separate private missions. Not to mention that there are many things that can be implemented to balance things out. For example, increasing the duration of expeditions, you can only send at most two expeditions at the same time, or you need expedition tickets that you can buy with gold from the item shop… etc.
