Since this weeks (main) patch, StW is basically unplayable as it is a micro stutter / freeze fest, caused by unreliable frame times.

At 60 FPS a frame call should be sent & received every 16.6 milliseconds ->16.6ms x 60 = 1.000ms = 1 second = 60 Frames per Second.

However this is what StW currently looks like:

Polling rate for logging was set to 100ms (so each square in the background of the graph should represents approximately 1 second in realtime.)
This was tested on 2 PC’s, nothing but the necessities running in the background, antivirus disabled, with different graphic settings, capped or uncapped frames, it always more or less looks like this.

As reference, here is apex legends, also with polling on 100ms:

Definitely not a flawless experience but a very solid one and compared to StW a night and day difference.

As it is clearly to see, there is a massive frametime f* up happening at least once every 5 seconds in StW. The majority of them reaching 98ms instead of the wanted 16.6ms – or in case of the uncapped frames log, 83.5ms instead of the wanted 10,1ms.
In reality this means the game will jump over an entire second of frames in that instance. Or in other words, you lose 59+ Frames and hence get a single frame per second, this is also known as freeze and/or hard microstutter.

To represent this in written form, this is how StW plays right now:

You run around, and count seconds….

1 seconds – fine

2 seconds – fine

3 seconds – fine

4 seconds – fine

5 seconds – FREEZE / HUGHE MICROSTUTTER

6 seconds – weird feeling mouse movement

7 seconds – fine

8 seconds – fine

9 seconds – fine

10 seconds – FREEZE / HUGHE MICROSTUTTER

11 seconds – weired feeling mouse movement

12 seconds – fine

13 seconds – fine

14 seconds – fine

15 seconds – FREEZE / HUGHE MICROSTUTTER

16 seconds – weired feeling mouse movement

And so on…

(( Depending on your system, like weather you got a 60 or 144HZ+ monitor & weather it has gsync/freesync or not, if you are running with vsync or fast sync (nvidia) or not, how many FPS you can or do pull overall this can result in different behavior which will be more or less obvious to notice.

In the best case scenario you most likely will just notice some small minor hiccups every few seconds while others might experience full 1-2 second freezes or experience extremely weird feeling mouse & character movement ingame or overall constant stuttering. ))
