A good amount of heroes in this game have little to no use. Since the devs are most likely going to change Extraterrestrial Rio's perk in the future, this gives me slight hope that they can do the same for others. Here are some other heroes that should probably be looked into for a rework or a buff so that their at least viable in the support spot and even be used as a commander.

First, team perks.

Steel Wool Team Perk – BOOM B.A.S.E

Right now, the issue with this team perk is that you are loosing out on a support squad since you need a constructor to use BASE. So you need to use Steel Wool Syd (since he is the only one that can help out a constructor). But the other two steel wool heroes will not benefit you in any way. So what change is most likely needed? My opinion is changing the perk for both Steel Wood Anthony and Carlos. While both their perks are useful in terms of other builds, using Boom BASE puts you at a slight disadvantage of a wasted slot.

So here is how I would change their perks:

Previous Perk:

  • Steel Wool Carlos (Support) – Each Elimination during Warcry extents its duration by .4 seconds, up to a maximum of 15 eliminations.
  • Steel Wool Carlos (Commander) – Each Elimination during Warcry extents its duration by .9 seconds, up to a maximum of 15 eliminations.

New Perk:

  • Steel Wool Carlos (Support) – If your team has either Steel Wool Syd or Steel Wool Anthony, buff all ranged damage by 25%. If not, each Elimination during Warcry extents its duration by .4 seconds, up to a maximum of 15 eliminations.
  • Steel Wool Carlos (Commander) – If your team has either Steel Wool Syd or Steel Wool Anthony, buff all ranged damage by 50%. If not, each Elimination during Warcry extents its duration by .9 seconds, up to a maximum of 15 eliminations.

Previous Perk:

  • Steel Wool Anthony (Support) – Seismic Smash leaves a pulsing zone with a 0.5 time radius at the end of its range which deals 56 base energy damage over 4 seconds and bounces husks inside.
  • Steel Wool Anthony (Commander) – Seismic Smash leaves a pulsing zone with a 0.75 time radius at the end of its range which deals 248 base energy damage over 4 seconds and bounces husks inside.

New Perk:

  • Steel Wool Anthony (Support) – If your team has either Steel Wool Syd or Steel Wool Carlos, buff all ability damage by 25%. If not, seismic Smash leaves a pulsing zone with a 0.5 time radius at the end of its range which deals 56 base energy damage over 4 seconds and bounces husks inside.
  • Steel Wool Anthony (Support) – If your team has either Steel Wool Syd or Steel Wool Carlos, buff all ability damage by 50%. If not, seismic Smash leaves a pulsing zone with a 0.75 time radius at the end of its range which deals 248 base energy damage over 4 seconds and bounces husks inside.

Overall, it's REALLY hard to change these perks without messing with the whole team perk entirely. I am really stumpt on this one. I try to give them a use if they are put in a team with each other, while still keeping their original perk incase anyone doesn't want to have both in the same squad.

If anyone has another suggestion, comment below since I really have no clue how to improve on this without reworking all 3 of them and the team perk.

One-Two Punch Team Perk

This is a really weak team perk, since there are many ways to gain energy back with melee weapons. New heroes like Anti-Cuddle Sarah and Fossil Southie makes spamming these heavy attacks easier than before. So here is what I would change:

Previous: For each hero with 2 or more stars, your next heavy attack after using an ability costs 20% less Energy.

New: For each hero with 2 or more stars, your next heavy attack after using an ability costs 20% less energy and deal 20% more damage.

This should allow some better usage out of it instead of just slightly costing less energy.

Shake It Off

This one is just not good. Let me buff it a good amount.

Previous: Requires 2 heroes with at least 4 or more stars. Decrease duration of elemental status effects by 50%.

New: Requires 2 heroes with at least 4 or more stars. Remove the ability to receive elemental status effects.

While it might not be worth running still, it can make you forgot about moving slower, taking fire damage overtime, or loosing energy ever during a match again. Overall, a good buff.

Now for some heroes. Note I will only talk about event heroes.

Previous:

  • Dennis Jr. (Support) – Axe eliminations have a 11% chance to grant Rockin' Rift.
  • Dennis Jr. (Commander) – Axe eliminations have a 37% chance to grant Rockin' Rift.

New:

  • Dennis Jr. (Support) – Axe and Club eliminations have a 11% chance to grant Rockin' Rift.
  • Dennis Jr. (Commander) – Axe and Club eliminations have a 37% chance to grant Rockin' Rift.

Mr. Ghost Boss Jr. might be the worst out of all the Rad Heroes. Axes also happen to be the least used melee weapons in the game (we don't even get many). So why not allow clubs join in. This should make him viable in certain Club and Axe builds, allowing for more variety.

Previous:

  • Miss Bunny Penny (Support) – Decrease Plasma Pulse energy cost by 38%.
  • Miss Bunny Penny (Commander) – Decrease Plasma Pulse energy cost by 75%.

New:

  • Miss Bunny Penny (Support) – Decrease Plasma Pulse energy cost by 75% and ability cooldown by 20%.
  • Miss Bunny Penny (Support) – Decrease Plasma Pulse energy cost by 75% and ability cooldown by 20%. Additionally, Plasma Pulse deals 20% more energy damage.

This should make Plasma Pulse a bit spammier and stronger if you wish to use her as commander.

Previous:

  • Highland Warrior Wildcat (Support) – Decrease Frag Grenade Energy Cost by 33%.
  • Highland Warrior Wildcat (Commander) – Decrease Frag Grenade Energy Cost by 83%.

New:

  • Highland Warrior Wildcat (Support) – Decrease Frag Grenade Energy Cost by 75% and ability cooldown by 20% (less time for each grenade ammo to regen).
  • Highland Warrior Wildcat (Support) – Decrease Frag Grenade Energy Cost by 75% and ability cooldown by 20% (less time for each grenade ammo to regen). Additionally, Frag Grenade deals 20% more energy damage.

Same deal here as with Miss Bunny Penny. Spammier frag grenades and slightly stronger as a commander.

Previous:

Most, if not all phase shift damage heroes suck.

New:

ALL PHASE SHIFT DAMAGE HEROES STRAIGHT UP NEED A DAMAGE BUFF. Seriously, I feel like phase shift should be more of a utility for farming and escaping than being a weapon. The new red willow we got is cool, but overall sucks as a support, like every other phase shift damage hero. Increase there base damage by like double to make it sort of viable.

This is all I have for now. There are MANY more (like 12) I would like to add on this list, but this list took me 3 hours to type and I'm tired. This is an example of what changes need to occur to make some heroes viable at least in support.
