Salutations! A while ago, I posted a public speech I wrote for a class that was based on what I imagined the Great Leader would say to his subjects after the storm passed. You can read that speech here: https://bit.ly/2TzrQDa
Now that I've dusted this game off again and gotten back into it, I decided to try out the Faith tree and see if I could finially make a society that juxtaposed my brutal authoritarian nightmare city. I managed to be a nice leader and have my society survive the storm without going overboard and still keeping a pretty good society going, so in turn, I decided to write out a speech that the Protector of the Truth gives to the people after the storm passes. Without further ado, here's that speech. Enjoy!
"2nd Timothy, 4:7-8 reads thus, my friends: 'I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me – the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.'
When I stand here, beneath our beloved generator, baithed by the sun's holy light, and surrounded by the people I have come to love, I see truly that God has delivered us safe through a great trial and test. From the moment we knew the storm was coming, we banded together and faced the oncomming storm with vigor and determination. And when we learned we were the only outpost left in this freezing hell, many of us thought we were truly alone in the world. But then we banded together as we remembered that we are never alone. God is with us, our families are with us, our comrades are with us, and naught but death can break our glorious bond.
As the storm drew nearee, did we lie down our heads and give up in despair? Did we turn on each other like lawless beasts? Did we abandon ourselves to sinful tyranny? NO! We kept our faith burning bright in the face of nature's wrath, and proclaimed with one voice: 'we will not be snuffed out like a candle in the freezing wind, we will stand strong and face this storm from the devil. For God is with us, and we fear no hardship or evil'.
That admirable faith, my friends, is what has kept us alive through the howling gales of the Devil Storm. When God sent us a warning, we were wise to heed it well and bolster our faith and our home to outlast the winter's curse.
I treasure dearly each and every person that dwells in this place, my friends. I cherish every man and woman, every child, and all creatures great and small. I would sooner take my own life than order someone to their deaths, and we are truly blessed that we found ways to avoid that terrible thing when it seemed there was no other choice. But even so, many of us were claimed by the Devil Storm.
In time, we will all mourn our fallen people in our own ways, but for now, we must do as God wishes and lay them properly to rest. Your work schedules are all cleared for the day. There will be a memorial service and funerals conducted starting at noon, and I encourage you all to spend the rest of the day in prayer and thanks. There will be time enough to mend our home and take up the torch in days to come, but this is a time to rekindle the warmth in our hearts and lay our people to rest.
Walk with God, my friends, and keep your faith strong".
