Hope…. thats the only thing that keep us going. from barely nothing i build this city. without sacrificing other i try to make everything count. "a better city than london" i say proudly to my people!

we expand our ground, searching for other and meeting other survivor. i open my door to them. "we must stay together to be strong!"

I try to welcome every bit of refugee even when i lack the resource, i start stopping my naivety. if they die at least they die in their home and have proper burial.

but hope cant get us nowhere… we need order! we need strong leadership! winterhome fell because their leader fail the people! I build an organized Order. sacrificing 17 people in the process so other can live peacefully. is it worth it? i dont know… but life goes on and we are united…

Its a shame but i must do it. Everything going well, we can survive this!

My scout panic and storm my room "SIR! ITS BIG! YOU MUST SEE THIS!" it was big, never was seen before… The storm came from the horizon…. i desperately call every single man i send to come back. everything was freezing… get eaten by the storm that march slowly to my city. "can the outpost survive?" i ask to my scout. "no.. sir, they got no technology to survive against storm that bad, we must recall them" i give a deep sigh…

I , in panic stock up on stockpile and gather every single food i can find. i overwork people at hothhouse to salvage every single bit of plant. put the cook house on nonstop shift. its all for the sake of survival. the scientist predict the cold will be much worse. we cant even grow our food!

the coal mining outpost still operating… sending the last batch of coal, i never knew this coal would be my savior…

and the storm hit, first i feel okay because i anticipate it with insulating the house. my people seems to be going just fine, medication almost perfect. everything going in order.

then suddenly my man running toward me "The coal mine has collapse!". i take deep breath… "do our supply enough?" i ask gently. "im sorry but… barely… with that last batch of coal…". when almost all hope gone, my scientist told me the way to save the mine, but it was risky… we need sacrifice, someone who brave enough to put the machine…

morning call was in… i show myself and tell my people what happen to the coal mine. and i with desperate voice ask for… volunteer…. they all stand in silence. I know this was not going to happen. then one of the oldest guy raise his hand "i would do everything for the young one to survive" followed by other old man and woman. it was spectacular! i was crying and a lot of them also cry…

we send them off… to the coal mine we hear explosive and scream… 30 of our people die… it was the biggest death that ever happen. but good thing we can recover all the body. we do a proper burial for them. and we must goes on!

the temperature getting colder… people getting frostbite and i already stockpiling on prosthetic. "drastic time require drastic measurement" i said. 5 infirmary used to tend refugee, now is tending my people not only refugee

i check the temperature prediction and saw the temperature will drop 5 times and i literally stop and close my eye in fear. i did not prepare for this. i did not insulate the house enough. people gonna die… i take a deep breath and continue…

i carefully mange the overdrive. on and off, its like bomb ticking. i sweat myself… when my man told me "we dont have enough coal… the overdrive cost us greatly then we predict" in panic. i was furious. i slam my table really hard "YOU SAID IT WAS ENOUGH!"

with heavy heart i order the people to work 24 hour in cold mine and cold thumper. i never want to use this… but i need to use force… i force the people work to death so we have enough coal…

1 by 1 people fall replaced by another, people getting panicked, but our propaganda and brutal force stop them. im sorry but i must do this. it was nonstop 24 hour shift in the coal.

then the peak of the cold came… -120 degree… we cant do anything even with overdrive…

i push the reactor to the limit. until a big explosion was heard… there is miss calculation in the overdrive. people panicking but my guard calm them quickly and said it was intentional. but it was not, the reactor will explode… the only way to fix it trough a small hole on top of the reactor… sadly no automaton can fit and fix it… but we can theoretically send a child that fit… but the spontaneous combustion will result in the child death…

we do a meeting in secret talking about this and how can we deal with this. we dont have a time!

then my adopted son peak trough the meeting room… max, he was 14 years old and is with me from the start of this city project. his parent die when they got split from our main party…

"dad, i can help you with that…" i urgently take my son outside and talk to him " No you maybe already hear all of that but no!. you know you gonna die doing that right?"

"but can you really have the gut to ask other kid to volunteer?" he said.. max was a bright child, and that moment make me cry really hard… i swallow my saliva and finally accept that. i as the leader only the one who can make this kind of sacrifice for my people.

i dont want to tell what happen after that… max was gone… he met with his parent. and i was happy he can be together with his parent again…

the final day… was harsh… almost every building die on cold. there is almost a chaos… if it wasnt the final day, we would be perish… my last order is "make sure the infirmary still going, it was our only hope"

i, the one who hate the arbitrary odd of "hope", one who change hope to obedience. the "great leader". the one that unite people… for the end to hoping that "HOPE" can save us all… what an irony

80+ people died in their duty… it was a failure, a disappointment… a mistake..

but…. 480 of us survive! we will not perish! we are the proud people of new london! we have our duty! and only in death does duty end…

if you read this, that mean im gone from this world and i die seeing my city prosper…

our city can be torn down, our reactor flame can be put out. but our heart will always lit on courage!

Your great leader
