HeroesoftheStorm 4 - Whitemane - the hero I didn't understand/enjoy at all, but now I can't stop playing her and loving it!

I didn't quite understand how to optimally play Whitemane at first. Whenever I would try, her excessive mana costs and dependency on dealing damage made her seem overly complex and stressful for me to play. I saw some other people get very large healing numbers with her, but I never quite understood how and I just assumed they were extremely good at managing her short effect durations and mana costs. While it is true that she requires attention to cooldowns and such, it's not nearly as complicated as I had thought. After watching a few videos online, I've learned what her ideal healing build is (at least for me) and how to enjoy her to great lengths!

The real key to optimization her mana pool and healing output really just relies on two talents, but your other talent choices can greatly increase her healing or allow you to lean more toward a utility support. The two talents that are absolutely mandatory for me to love playing her are:

Level 1 – Clemency

Level 4 – High Inquisitor

Without those two talents, to heal with any semblance of consistency is beyond me. It's probably possible, but my mind can't wrap around it all too well.

To explain the talent choices and their use:

Clemency – allows you to cast Inquisition on allied heroes to heal them. The reason I find this mandatory for me is that the build relies on the execution of a very strict rule: never allow more than 1 stack of Desperation to expire on its own. To be able to follow this rule regularly, you'd either have to ALWAYS be within cast range of an enemy (which isn't plausible), or take this talent and use your allies to clear the stacks (talked about below).

High Inquisitor – this makes it so that when you cast Inquisition (or Clemency), all current stacks of Desperation are cleared and you are refunded 75 mana per stack. So if you're following the logic here, as long as you can manage your stacks of desperation around the cooldown of Inquisition/Clemency, you literally have infinite mana. Every time you clear a stack of Desperation, your mana maxes back out.

If you follow the cycle above, you effectively have infinite mana to cast as many Desperate Pleas as your heart desires. Mix that in with the bonus direct heal of Clemency, the heal from Inquisition on all allies with Zeal, searing lash heal, and any bonus heals that come from talents, you're a healing MACHINE. Here is the build I generally go with: https://www.heroesfire.com/hots/talent-calculator/whitemane#kbEd

I like to go all-out max heal build because I like to see big numbers next to my name and I feel inadequate and usually quietly cry in bed at night if I don't exceed all other healers– but the build can be tailored to root enemies, decrease enemy damage, etc. Level 1 and 4 talents shouldn't be changed though, if you want to try this build. 90% of the time, I use Clemency on an ally to clear my stacks. You can cut the channel of Clemency off short if necessary, and only cast for a split second if you're only doing it to clear stacks.

Maybe there's a more optimal build along these lines (probably), but I just wanted to share my love for her because there may be others out there who may have much more fun with her following this build (like I did).
