So I play this game ALOT. It's not perfect, but hell, I love it.
with all my play time I can accept many (many) downsides this game has but one. The Toxicity of players.
While I can't do anything about people being just rude, and lacking the basic concepts of good upbringing, with proper social behaviors that their parents should present to them in childhood, I can however put some context behind "why your teammate is not playing up to your expectations".
Your teammate sucks because:
- she/he is doing something else atm.
- she/he's new to the hero
- she/he's drunk/tired
- she/he's a human
- she/he's trying out some new stuff
- she/he's just worst than you.
Ad.1 People rarely have free time after they become adults. They have their kids walking in their room, putting fingers in output sockets, trying to kill themselves as do all children under 4 actively do, having their pets jumping over keyboard, having a UPS guy at the door, or inlaws popping in without notice. People cook stuff for the next day, need to smoke and get the smoke in their eyes, they scratch their ass and put fingers up their nose to smell it.
WELL WHY THEY DO ALL THIS CRAP AND NOT PLAY???? WHY U NO FOCUS GAME?
Because this is life and the game is not that important. People just want to chill and have a good time.
Ad.2 I have all but 8 heroes over lvl 10. and each time I take a new one, to try it people see an account with lvl 1400 + and playing like an idiot, because I'm new to the hero and have no idea what I'm doing.
WELL YOU SHOULD WATCH VIDEOS AND READ ICY VEINS AND WRITE A BOOK ABOUT THE HERO EVEN BEFORE YOU PLAY IT OMG?!?!!?!!?!
Yeah. I'm almost 40 now, I don't have time for this and also I just want to jump in and discover the hero for myself.
OMG GO PRACTICE IN TRY MODE AND VS AI!
No. It's not the same. While heroes that have self sustain and have their own objectives in the game can be practiced in QM there are some heroes that rely on good composition to bloom. These can be practiced ONLY in ranked and Unranked games.
Ad.3 Playing during the evening? I guarantee that 70% people are intoxicated one way or the other. They will take more risks, they will change their mind, they will play like an idiot, or they will type some random crap in the team chat, just for sh*t and giggles.
WELL WHY YOU PLAY THE GAME AND RUIN IT FOR EVERYBODY?!?!
You don't know people. You don't know what they've been through. The magic of online gaming comes with the perk of putting a nurse who just finished a 72 hour shift in a hospital for cancer patients teamed up with a 32 y.o. fat guy living in his parent's basement. One will need a drink to cope with reality, other to digest a tripple cheesburger his mom just ordered. Don't judge people. They just need to unwind and kill some stuff.
Ad.4 Guess what. Everyody makes mistakes, everyone has a bad day. Things in life tend to grow on you and bring you down. We play to relax and forget but shit is with us all the time and sometimes when you need to press W you will press and R, just because you were thinking about your dad dying last week or the things you need to do tomorrow.
WELLLL!!!!!! OMG GET YOUR STUFF TOGETHER AND FOCUS?!?
Yeah, it doesn't work that way. Sometimes you need to lose 4 matches in a row to realize this is just not the day you win.
Ad.5 So I played Valla up to lvl 30 with only AA build, never tried the monster hunter thing. Never.
Then I realized it'll be good for maps like Battlefield of Eternity. Even though I was an experienced Valla player I needed 10 more levels just to time my shots, quests and mana efficiency to a top class level. People try out new stuff all the time and they will need some time to learn it. Don't flame people for trying to grow. Only by failing, you make room for progress.
DELETE GAME. I'M SERIOUS. NEVER PLAY IT AGAIN.
Aaaaaaaand blocked. You would not believe how many times someone had the audacity to whisper me after the game to say shit like that. I'm not here for you. I'm here for me, so buckle up while I try out my puffer fish talent tree with a MMR 2534 for a first time.
Ad. 6 This game is old for the industry standard but it still has new players. Heck, I myself took a 2 year break from playing it and picked it up only recently. People are just not as good as you want them to be. With the drop in player base, and dodgy MMR placements you will get various level of experience in your team. Not everyone is as good as you. Period. Here's another hard pill to swallow – nothing you say during these 12 minutes of stomp will make those people play better. Your bile in gchat, will only make them more nervous and happy to leave the game earlier (making you lose faster). Not everyone have the same expectations, same level of commitment and energy put into it as you. It is a wide world out there, and people, thank God are not the same everywhere. If it were so, we would be living in communist country wearing the same outfits and same haircuts. You don't want that.
JESUES!!!11 L2P NOOB!
I am!, I am literally learning how to play right now. Thanks.
One last thing I want to point out is about the social acceptance of bad behaviors. There are TONS of public figures like streamers and pro players, that are just assholes. MFPallytime, nubkeks, and don't start me on Mopsio? These people are often very toxic "on air" and although I love watching their content for excellent game plays, I utterly despise them for the amount of shaming and general toxicity they put out to the world. I would love to see them picking up the torch and living by example. Maybe in a better world.
Thanks for reading. Gl HF.
