I haven't played in a while. I already reached pirate legend.
Part of what is keeping me from coming back is I feel this game has a very high time and effort burden on it before I even set sail. The reason being is I feel like playing with people is the best way to play this game. But I honestly don't want to go through the trouble of trying to find a solid LFG group whether it be on discord or Xbox.
Once you do get an LFG group you need to dedicate a big chunk of time to just plain old resource grabbing if you want to be able to, tackle a fort, a skelly ship, kraken, meg, and other players.
I could save some time by just hopping on solo when I want. But this game is NOT friendly toward solo players. You are basically relegated to Gold Hoarders, if you got a lot of time and patience, merchant and if you are a masochist, order of souls.
The time commitment to a solo player escalates. I have friends that feel the same way. They think the new update is awesome, but they log in and have a sense of dread wash over them. How am I going to get anything meaningful done in this time frame?
Honestly, I don't really know where else to go with this post. I don't have a solution for it without drastically changing the game. I just felt the need to get it out there because I WANT to play this game again. But I dread just trying to load into a decent crew.
