Please, hear me out.

The Bilge Rat faction is one of the greatest additions to the game. They are very different to the normal three factions that were at release and usually a lot of fun to do with others. The problem is, all events are time locked in a relative short amount of time (2 weeks, 3 for Cursed Sails).

If someone were to join the game right now, they would have missed three events and a whole lot of rewards. So why would they even bother to do the Skeleton Thrones, or Mermaid Statues? Just to get a title? I mean, the chances of finding another crew to do the thrones right now are near to zero. Also, it's a pity that a lot of effort went into creating the Hungering Deep and the only thing we have to remember it is a trumpet, an instrument and a random Megalodon that most of the time people ignore.

So, how to solve this? Well, we just got alliances into the game. Why don't we use that tool to form premade fleets? I understand a lot of people worry about the balance of PvP, so there could be two ways to counter this:

  • Limit the size of premade alliance to two ships. They can join another random ships that are in the server if they want to (Once you understand how alliances work it seems pretty stupid not to join one).

  • Make "alliance-only" servers with a locked max of three premade fleets per server (two ships in each fleet). Once they are in this server, no other ships can join an alliance, and if a ship disbands, they are thrown back to a "normal" server.

I believe that these changes could completely improve the way we play the game by a whole lot. Just imagine all the potential this feature could have for Bilge Rats, Athena's voyages, PvP (imagine the 2v2v2 battles that could happen) or just normal gameplay.

I speak about this as someone who has completed all the current Bilge Rat commendations. Sometimes I had to wait for hours to find another ship willing to do what I wanted to do (Thrones PTSD). If we had a fleet creation feature most of those problems would disappear and new players could fully experience the Bilge Rat adventures if they wanted to.

What do you think?
