Rare should update the Chickens, Pigs, Snakes, various Crates, and Gunpowder Barrel cargoes into the new Cargo Runs and discontinue the old Merchant Alliance voyages.

Simply, old voyages=boring, Cargo Runs= (appear) awesome! No one will do the old voyages after Cargo Runs are in the game if they’re as dynamic and fun as they look, which will seemingly make all of the cargoes I mentioned in the title worthless in terms of usability in the game. To bring the old cargoes into the new meta, some things will need to fundamentally change with their properties since all of the new cargoes have conditions that will make them more or less valuable depending on your actions:

Chickens- need to make more noise, should need to be fed with a yet to be added food source, probably sunflower seeds, so they can starve to death like the pigs. They’ll become less valuable the less you’ve fed them because they’ll be smaller.

Pigs- they’re actually fine, since they already absorbed your resources, though I would say they should also become less valuable the less you feed them for the same reasons.

Snakes- presumably the snakes are wanted for their venom, so the more times you allow the snakes to bite you, the less valuable the snake becomes.

Wood crates- float, but will become wet and less valuable in water.

Cannonball crates- sinks immediately when not being carried, rusts the cannonballs when wet to reduce value, the more cursed balls in the crate the more valuable it gets. So you can kinda balance out damage with cursed balls.

Banana crates- floats, don’t jump or drop the bananas from heights, because they’ll bruise and become less valuable.

Gunpowder barrels- the most controversial change: the wetter you allow the powder barrel to get, the slower the fuse and the lower the value. No more leaving barrels in the crows nest or you risk losing money, they’ll still explode when shot or when they strike a ship or when the fuse runs down though.

And that’s pretty much it. This would allow the devs to just slip these cargoes into the new Cargo Run voyage system and discard the old system. Furthermore, it would mean that merchant cargo is no longer near worthless to people who don’t have a mission with that particular cargo, so merchant raiding will finally be profitable.

Edit: Geez, since when did people flock to the defense of the old Merchant Alliance voyages? Did the popular opinion suddenly shift from “yeah, I only do these because I need to increase level and they aren’t at all fun”? I can’t imagine any other reason for downvotes.
