Just wanted to take some time to talk about how much I’ve enjoyed playing this game since the official launch. I’ve had good times, bad times, but never boring ones. This game is always bringing new and exciting player v. player interactions and I love it.
Most importantly for me however, is how I’ve been able to play it with both of my brothers. We traditionally bond over video games, so I was really excited when my brothers finally downloaded the game.
For about a month straight, one of my brothers and myself sailed together almost every day. We sucked at first, and eventually began to dominate the seas. He recently began his training for the Navy so now we don’t get to play anymore together, and that really sucks.
My other brother and I just started playing together the past couple weeks, and it’s been just as great. I got to show him how to be a pirate, and he picked it up really well.
Tonight was our last night to play together, since he’s in the Army and is getting deployed very soon. We had been hoping to take on the Meg, but no crews would join us. Finally, with two hours left for us to play together, we got two galleons to join our sloop, and off we sailed for T26. It was our first attempt at the Meg, and boy what a step up from the Kraken. The first Meg bite tore every hole up in our ship. It was frighteningly beautiful.
The battle raged on, first claiming one galleon and later the other. It was up to my brother and I, as well as one surviving crew member from the galleon. My brother was able to fire the final cannon shot that allowed us to claim our prized figureheads. It felt amazing.
What’s been even better than beating the Meg is how I’ve gotten to get closer and bond with my brothers over this game. I’m bummed that we won’t be able to play together for a long time, but I’m really glad we’ve had this time.
I’ll be solo-slooping from here on out, and would be happy to help fight the Meg for anyone who needs it.
