Reduction of consumer goods bonus matter more if your pops have higher living standards (like social welfare) and its unique feature is Utopian Abundance, which is, especially in 2.2, essentially communism.
I like socialism! Egalitarian is even my favorite ethic right now. However, I believe that separating the socialistic theme into the new ethic would really be great from the perspective of a guy who really loves creating empires.
For example, democratic society not necessarily should be socialistic, as well as socialistic society not necessarily should be democratic.
Themes of the new ethics can be:
Collectivism – socialism, working for future generations, environmentalism, big government, utilitarianism, altruism. Individualism – capitalism, living in present moment, rapid industrialization, small government, virtue ethics, ethical egoism.
Rename Egalitarian into Libertarian.
Libertarian + Collectivism = Egalitarian. Social democracies and socialist republics. Add xenophile for space Germany/Sweden.
Libertarian + Individualism = Full Libertarian democracies. One more point into libertarian for Anarcho-capitalism.
Authoritarian + Collectivism = Soviet Union style. Add xenophile and it's Tau Empire.
Authoritarian + Individualism = Your typical oppressive megacorporation. Ruthless capitalists.
Add xenophobia for space EA.
