My views on the new Battleground queuing system…

Let me start off by saying that I fully expect to get shit on for this but I need to know if I’m not alone…

ESO has been my go to game for a while now and I have had an extraordinary amount of fun with all of its content. For the most part, Zenimax seems pretty good at listening to the players and molding the game to suit our needs.

My favorite thing to do however, is battlegrounds with my wife and/or my best friend. The small scale, non laggy (knock on wood), pvp matches are right up our ally. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that premades were a bit out of control and MOST of the time it meant you weren’t gonna win that match but it made the victories sweeter when we did win.

BGs were my end game focus. All of my characters, builds, everything was geared towards bg PvP. I still enjoy all of the other content but not as much as bgs. I have found, now that I can’t do bgs with friends that I am losing my attraction to this game.. which really sucks..:/ there’s no more drive for me. I don’t do any PVE content bc even if my builds called for the drops, it would be almost pointless bc the bg change. I don’t have that much fun with Cyrodiil bc in my experience, it’s just a running simulator. I tend to spend hours running to find a fight, only to get zerged on. I don’t have much fun when I join the zergs bc even if I don’t lag out, I really don’t do much. In a 20 man group, I am making no significant contributions to the fight. The closest thing me and my friends have done that’s close to bgs is IC. It’s not bad, but it’s very unreliable. Sometimes it’s dead or there’s more zerging.

I get that it creates a more competitive environment for bgs, which is really good and needed thing. But for the sacrifice of playing with friends..? That’s not what I want from a Massive Multiplayer Online game…:/ I have also found that most streamers enjoy the change bc they can excel even more, which there’s nothing wrong with that, but let’s be honest, most of the streamers were 1v4ing your premade anyways..

I know this change is just a trial test to see if the community is happy with it but I wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t at least try to voice my opinion. Let’s explore other options. Just give the champions of this game a solo que ranked option and restore the vanilla bgs for casuals.

Hopefully there’s a strong majority that agrees with me. If not, I hope the majority that doesn’t at least understands where I’m coming from. I want to know what are your guys’ honest opinions on the topic? To the people who disagree, let me know why. I am really trying to find the pros to this but nothing I have found or heard outweighs the cons.

Thanks for reading!:)
