Hey guys I posted recently with a legendary permadeath run that involved heavy Armor no crafting no followers where I completed the main quest line. So I decided to try and make it even harder for myself and have just successful completed my run without dying once.
Rules: legendary difficulty, no followers, no smithing, no enchanting, no alchemy, no purchasing (unless required by quest but strictly no carriages and no skill training), no stealing.
So basically I could only use what I found in loot or what I earned from quest rewards
Build: Breton stealth archer + conjuration
Final gear: helmet – Krosis, necklace – galdur amulet, chest – glass Armor, gauntlets – gauntlets of the old gods, ring – ring of minor archery, boots – glass boots, shield – ebony shield. Other Armor used: leather boots of dwindling shock, Elven boots of frost suppression, apprentice robes of restoration (purely to regenerate Magicka quickly)
Level 39, 85% Magicka resistance (Breton 25%, lord stone 25%, agent of Mara 15%, alteration tree 20%). Armor rating 440 (all 5 levels of agile defender, ancient knowledge quest done and lord stone + 50).
Archery level 100: 5/5 overdraw, then entire left side only including paralyse
Light Armor level 80: 5/5 agile defender, left side only up to windwalker
Sneak level 84: stealth 3/5, right side up to deadly aim, left side up to light foot (couldn’t risk instant death from traps)
Conjuration level 61: right side up to adept conjuration, bound weapons all the way up to oblivion binding, left side up to atromancy
Restoration level 57: only noice and regeneration perks
Alteration level 68: up to apprentice alteration and 2 levels of magic resistance
Bound bow, Ebony bow when magika depleted, mace of molag bal (initially to trap souls to charge staves), sanguine rose, staff of paralysis (barely used)
Got sneak up to 35 in embarshed mine hiding the dark and stealth archer killing only, utilising weak bandits, then mud crabs then mammoths to level my light Armor (had to be super careful nearly died twice doing this), clearing shroud hearth barrow to get oakflesh spell (previously couldn’t level alteration) and to get Kynes peace (so I could avoid getting one shot by snow Sabre cats etc, bound bow from fort amol, no one escapes cinda mine (got the gauntlets of archery but also the silver blood guys dropped a ring of minor archery), completing a night to remember so I could summon a dremora, gladur amulet for much needed health boost.
General strategy was from the beginning to keep distance unless training light Armor. Always relied on summoning my familiar to get out trouble and sprinted. As soon as I could sanguine rose I got a little more confident. I utilised everything I could. For ages I couldn’t cast the bound bow without my novice hood, I’d switch between Armor and robes to regenerate magic quickly when light Armor training. I befriended merchants like Lucan and the alchemist at whiterun so I take their minor health potions (as I couldn’t buy anything). After finding muffle on a random draugur I basically cast muffle, oakflesh and bound bow before entering any battle. I also collected all the ingredients to make atronachs at the atronach forge in the midden but I barely used these. I also got the staff of paralysis from snapleg cave but again barely used this. It was just for insurance.
The galdursen brother with the bow. He fus ra da me into a wall and hit me on the ground. Left me with 4 health left. Thankfully you can take health potions while being rag dolled. This happened both while collecting his fragment and while forging the the fragments.
Ebony bow wielding death lord draugur at Skuldaffin almost one shot me every time I got hit. Lots of retreating and taking potions.
Was such a tough run and it was so intense at times but I am buzzing I’ve finished. Looking forward to making the challenge harder again next time.
Happy to answer any questions you guys have.
