Greetings, adventurers and friends of pets and bunnies especially.
Today, please forgive me if I become a bit teary-eyed and solemn, but it is time to take a look back at the last event of #BunnsForEso's March for Bunnies and the history behind it.
For those interested chiefly in its results, I will speak of those first, however and am glad to announce that our eventual victor of our
Grand Finale Scavenger Hunt was none other than
Braving the riddles, squeezing her brain and keeping both eyes open she was the first to eventuall arrive at the sixth spot of our journey after roundabout 1 1/2 hours. Congratulations once again to you and may you enjoy
the grand prize, perfect for the arrival of your new bunny pet once it becomes available. True to that and our mission to spread joy and love, all who participated will be rewarded with prizesof one shape or another, too.
Now as we look back, all of this truly began last year when tragedy struck and our dear LadySky lost her bunny Lyon who was about this
tall, about this
fierce and wanted to be drawn like one of your
After her passing, LadySky felt a sting in her heart to be such bereft of her animal companion and searched long and far for one to accompany her through Tamriel, but to no avail.
One day, her good friend Coldfreeze decided to take matters into his hands and surprised her, who is quite shy in nature, bringing about the foundations for #BunnsForEso and since LadySky and myself have been friends for a good while now, obviously I learned about it and decided to lend my skills to the cause.
This was when the first gathering and event was organized and planned and more were envisioned still. To this day we have had over sixty people join us at one point or another and we sure hope we have spread joy, love and happiness to you all who came and were part of this.
And while the March For Bunnies comes to an end – it's the end of March after all – #BunnsForEso remains well and alive until we one day are united with our long-eared hoppy friends! We will not stop to kindly ask for bunnies as pets on ESO and we hope you won't, either.
Finally, let me thank those who were true pillars of this row of events and have at times volunteered and spread the cheer above and beyond what one might expect.
@Augestflex who volunteered and brought many a smile to you and me
@Coldfreeze whose twittery help inside and out could not be overheard
@LadySky1989 without which none of this would have existed
@maxyne85 who had a paw or two to lend when they were most welcome
@Nisechev whose fur raised to the occasion and met with deep appreciation
@MikemanpaladinCamael our most generous craftsman who provided his skills for this event's crafting needs
and last but not least
each and every single one of you.
I have run many an event in my lifetime of online gaming, from tiny ones to ones with over 150 people but my principle, my idea behind it has always remained the same: make them so, that anyone can participate and see that in order to enjoy themselves, they need no elaborate meta build, no unique drop, no battle to the death. Those are all wonderful, of course, but the magic, the real magic, in a game such as this happens only with the help of people. All they sometimes need, is a gentle nudge.
Therefore let me close with the words of George Bernard Shaw:
"Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will."
– Clavius Lydoris Probus, imagineer.
PS: I will make the scavenger hunt riddles and course publicly available in a different post and link to that from here, too. It will take a bit though so if you read this and there's no link HEREyet, please be a bit patient with me. I promise, I'll deliver.
