I don't get how this deck continues to exist with Bethesda only playing around the edges and nerfing shit like Mantikora (rip) and Indoril Mastermind. CVH recently said that they do their nerfs in some part based on how "fun" stuff is and well maybe he needs to update his glasses, because Tribunal is the most solidly shit deck in the entire game that NO ONE enjoys going up against.

Sure, come in here and tell me how you have a 73% win rate against Tribunal. You and I still both know that it is a fucking miserable matchup and you'd rather stick your dick in and out of a cheese grater for 10 minutes instead.

While the Tribunal player enjoys all of the agency in the world to pick and choose how to play the match, react to you, etc., the opposing player gets zero agency. You get to field lane early on until they stuff it up and then it is just a matter of whether or not they have answers to your shadow lane or if they Ice Storm and clear up the field lane again.

When you go up against Tribunal, it's the least rewarding matchup in the entire game. There is minimal skill involved because it doesn't matter what the fuck you do, it only comes down to whether or not they have answers in their hand.

To make matters worse, you're not even safe playing key cards from hand by turn 5 because the the chance that they have either Piercing Twilight or Cast into Time is over 50%. You read that right. Play that Cliff Racer out because it's the last card in your hand and its a literal coinflip on whether or not it'll be the last Cliff Racer you play that game. That's assuming they drew a total of 8 cards out of their 75 card deck by turn 5, including opening hand.

A tricolor problem overall, but even moreso for Tribunal, is that you have no fucking idea what is in their hand. You can't even begin to fathom a guess. Their deck is filled with dozens of hard removal options that line up perfectly along every part of the curve except for 7, so every time you play a creature it feels like you're pulling the fucking slot machine handle. Especially because the odds are stacked against you for that creature sticking, much like how the odds are stacked against you when you throw away your money in a slot machine.

So how the fuck do we deal with this? One, Bethesda needs to stop being pussies. Make some nerfs to cards without worrying about "offending your playerbase". You nerfed Drain Vitality, you nerfed Soul Tear, you nerfed Ash Berserker, you nerfed multiple facets of Nix Ox combo… but you can't fucking nerf Sorcerer's Negation? Are you fucking kidding me???

You can't nerf any other hard removal staples that make Tribunal a literal nightmare to play against for every single archetype?

The only meta deck in the game that is favored against Tribunal is Conscription Telvanni, but even then Tribunal can just throw caution to the wind and play Memory Wraith if that deck gets too popular.

Tribunal on average is too good, has too many different viable paths to go for control, can tech against any matchup in the game, is the core definition of "play good stuff" on curve and win, removes the majority of agency away from players, blah blah blah blah blah the list goes on.

Fix it.
