… Or I guess I should say "endings", since there's at least three of them. Now don't get me wrong, I love that small details lead to bigger events in the main story, like how you treat someone in a certain way said character will have a certain relationship with you in the future. I've also read something about you having to think about Ciri first and not you, being the best dad possible for her so she might live. I got the worst ending possible for the game, not only does Ciri die, Geralt is pressumable killed at the end of the last cutscene…and I feel like it's bullshit.
Like, I've read the reasons why Ciri doesn't survive the Withe Frost:
Say “Relax, you don’t have to be good at everything,” when comforting Ciri during Blood on the Battlefield.
Missable: Choose to visit the Emperor during Blood on the Battlefield, and say “Definitely need it more than you” to accept payment for bringing Ciri to him.
Accompany Ciri to the meeting with the Lodge of Sorceresses during Final Preparations.
Say “Calm down” when Ciri loses her temper during The Child of the Elder Blood.
Say “No time” when Ciri asks to visit Skjall’s grave at the end of The Child of the Elder Blood
You need to have three of these decisions for it to go wrong. Not going with her to see Skjall is a very logical reason on why Ciri might fu*k up and not be motivated enough. Accepting the money for her is also a fair move. But how is Ciri suddenly to depressed to beat the Withe Frost just because I told her she doesn't need to be good enough at everything or how is accompanying her with the lodge such an important issue or telling her to calm down. I get what they were trying to do, I still think they went a bit too far on the "let's make small decisions important" with the endings, it feels almost forced for Ciri to be so sensitive to smalls details like that. I don't know about you guys, maybe it's just me being angry at Ciri dying becuase of my bad decisions and I will recover with time but so far I think they didn't do a good job with them. Do the DLC's matter somehow, do they happen after the game's events? Like, does my Geralt recover or what?
