NØKK'S WEAPONS

Nøkk's weapons are lackluster, to say the least. I mean, a Primary SMG on Attack just doesn't seem to fit well. Defenders need to wait for the Attackers to make a move, so it makes more sense for them to carry Primary SMGs around so commonly, but there's a reason Attackers all mainly have ARs/LMGs/DMRs. I would prefer to give Nøkk 1+ or 2+ ARs that are good at closing the close range gap rather than a Primary SMG. Here's what I propose:

  • Replaced SIX12 SD with 552 Commando Assault Rifle.

No one uses the shotgun, I mean, c'mon let's be honest. Replacing the shotgun seems more logical than replacing the FMG-9, because the FMG-9 and Commando can provide a signifigant and viable playstyle for players.


NØKK'S HEL PRESENCE REDUCTION

Nøkk currently isn't picked due to the number of gadgets that can detect your presence immediately. While Nøkk was originally for safety/camera deception, I feel as if her potential is underdeveloped. That's why I think her HEL should be reworked into a fully electronic/camera deception tool! Here's what I think should change:

  • When HEL PR is active Nøkk will not trigger/be detected by EDDs, Grzmot Mines, Banshee Sonic Defences, Prisma Holograms, and Proximity Alarms.
  • Even when HEL PR is active, Nøkk will still trigger/be detected by Heartbeat Sensor, Welcome Mats, GU Mines, CCE Shield tasing, Surya Gates, and Barbed Wire.
  • Gadgets that have lights attached will turn a similar color to Nøkk's signature HEL PR yellow tint to indicate there's a Nøkk around the corner.
  • Echo's Yokai Drone no longer detects Nøkk with a white interference.
  • Mozzie's hacked drones still have white interference to detect Nøkk.
  • HEL PR usage time increased from 12s to 16s.

When HEL PR is active Nøkk will not trigger/be detected by EDDs, Grzmot Mines, Banshee Sonic Defences, Prisma Holograms, and Proximity Alarms.

I feel this change is warranted because of just how many gadgets can remove the sneaky flank purpose of Nøkk.

Even when HEL PR is active, Nøkk will still trigger/be detected by Heartbeat Sensor, Welcome Mats, GU Mines, CCE Shield tasing, Surya Gates, and Barbed Wire.

Nøkk simply can't be immune to every gadget and ability, so to even out the "buffs" she would get, there are still these abilities and gadgets that can stop Nøkk in her tracks!

Gadgets that have lights attached will turn a similar color to Nøkk's signature HEL PR yellow tint to indicate there's a Nøkk around the corner.

I figured it'd only be fair to have lights change color on gadgets to indicate Nøkk is potentially creeping up!

Echo's Yokai Drone no longer detects Nøkk with a white interference.

It just didn't make much sense to me. Why can the Yokai do it but no other camera besides Mozzie's hacked drones? On Mozzie it makes sense, he hacks the Attacker's drones and interferes with their usual knowledge of their own equipment, hence revealing Nøkk with a white interference. I have a hunch it's lore-related but I couldn't find anything on it.

Mozzie hacks drones and gains intel with Attacking's own equipment. This makes sense to me, if your drone gets hacked, your intel is denied and Defense's intel is gained.

HEL PR usage time increased from 12s to 16s.

The HEL PR offered 12s of sneaky and undetected presence but also, 12s is not long enough for a sneaky crouch walking Nøkk going for the flank. Increasing the usage time from 12s to 16s (4s+) should give the leg room needed to effectively work around abilities/gadgets while remaining quiet and undetected until the HEL runs out.

SCRAPPED IDEAS


Integrated Suppressors

I was hoping to bring integrated suppressors to Nøkk as it kinda makes a lot of sense. But that's ultimately up to Ubi. I wouldn't be against it because it makes complete sense on an operator completely based around presence reduction! Never been a fan of Nøkk without suppressor haha!


SC3000K (Zero's AR)

I honestly loved play-testing the SC3000K on Nøkk! It was so fun sneaking around with a powerful, yet somehow balanced weapon, especially with the damage remaining great with an attached suppressor! But alas, I figured it would just make people upset that "Zero's signature AR" was put onto another operator. I can understand that, but personally, I would love to see this weapon on Nøkk because if they're going to add a completely new weapon it should be able to be shared!


Scrapped Interactions

Originally I had this big grand idea about making Nøkk counter almost every gadget. But I hated it almost immediately. There were lots, like moving more quietly but slower in Barbed Wire and GU Mines not making a detonation sound when stepped in as Nøkk with her HEL active. It just, I'm not sure if it didn't make sense or just seemed like it was doing more jobs than it needed to. My favorite had to be the Surya Gate deceiving though, it would essentially work like your a defender when your HEL PR is active, but I figured it didn't align with gameplay mechanics and balance. Maybe I'm wrong about some, but hey, who knows!
