On every map within one of the objectives, there should be a box/metal crate which contains the pool of 10 reinforcements for your team. This means in Ranked, if players run off without doing any reinforcing, you still have all the reinforcements in one spot, meaning that you can still get all 10 put out. As reinforcements can be so crucial, this is a much needed addition.
It also has positive impacts at pro play. If a team bring an operator that requires alot of the prep phase to set up (for example Mira, or just roamers in general) then as they are doing so, the other 2-3 teammates can collectively set up the site with all reinforcements being where they need to go. This allows for more freedom in the prep phase and introduces key roles, even in prep phase.
This box would be impenetrable and would act as a new piece of cover in one of the sites as well, meaning it can be a part of every site integrally as well. Size-wise id want it to be similar to the SAS crates/boxes on the top floor of Hereford (green boxes on each site). Maybe a little thinner but looks and acts the same as that.
It would also make more sense from a realistic stand point. Instead of each operator somehow carrying around 2 big reinforcements, they can collect them from a box that has likely been brought in by that unit, for the purpose of solidifying their defences.
There will need to be countermeasures in place however, just in case people collect several reinforcements and then proceeds to purposely not put them out. One way to combat this is by players only being able to collect 2 at a time, until both are deployed. Then they can go back and collect more. This means no one can hold more than 2 without using them, but then you get the same issue this is trying to fix whereby someone isn’t reinforcing and your losing 2 reinforcements. Anther thing could be severe point deductions per round and match for anyone who doesn’t deploy their reinforcements. For example, if your holding a reinforcement and haven’t used it, you lose 750 points per round per reinforcement. This means less points per match and less Elo overall at the end of the game. Also, at the end of the match, if someone has held only only 3 reinforcements and hasn’t placed them, across that whole match, they get a -75% XP and Renown penalty for the next game.
These are just some ideas overall to avoid griefing and to make this mechanic a new, integral important part of the game from a base fundamental level.
What do you think?
