I'll keep it short; I've played this game for a while. I started right when this game released to the public, but stopped because I didn't understand anything about it (in addition to a few bugs). I've got almost 1200 hours in and I've enjoyed the heck out of it. I've tried to get tons of my friends to try it out but help of another player can only go so far.
I'm not trying to say to make it easier or hold new players hands. Maybe something can be done to help guide new players in the right direction though. Most people I know think it's literally just empty missions and cool combat, and grow bored rather quickly. They don't know how to make new frames or get parts, they don't understand relics and how you get them, and most unfortunate is that they have NO idea what to do when I'm not around.
I got super sucked in with the second dream quest. I was already into the game because I was interested enough to look everything up, but the second dream really hooked me. We need something like this for new players that make them think that their missions for the first four planets are worth it. Having a friend on it isn't enough for everybody, and definitely isn't an option for everybody who comes by.
Again, I love the game, but the intro and how it leaves free reigns right after the tutorial is a bit of a turn off.
