Like, I started playing this game somewhat recently and I've learned that there's a decent amount of story and lore related things I missed out on and will never get to experience because they were part of one-off events that are just…gone.
For example: if you're a newer player you'd think Nef Anyo is a new character introduced in Fortuna, not a recurring character who's been in the game since 2015. (Yes he does show up later, Alad V does too, but this is after you've seen Fortuna, a place that doesn't attempt to keep brand new players from entering despite being on a higher level of difficulty than most early-game content)
This applies to a couple other people like Alad V, who to most new players just comes off as a one-off boss/target, but like Nef is a recurring character who's been around for years but was introduced in an event you'll never get to play. (Speaking of Alad, could we maybe see quests getting shifted around so the timeline isn't so jumbled in regards to his later in-game appearances?)
Like, wouldn't it be nice if new players weren't forced to read the wiki to get a full idea of the story and characters because some of it was tied to removed events?
Also to clarify; I'm not trying to say my experience is totally ruined by this, or that the story is incomprehensible as a result of it, and I'm definitely not trying to stir up some sort of outrage or anything like that, just it's a little annoying to miss out on stuff because I happened to join in later.
TL;DR – I think DE should try reimplenting old removed events as permanent quests so new players aren't as shafted when it comes to following the story and getting context for characters, maybe add in new unique rewards so older player have an incentive to do them.
Edit: After seeing multiple replies about how much of a time sink this would be on the devs part with little incentive to justify doing it, maybe they could come up with new unique rewards for these quests so that there's incentive for all players, not just newbies?
That or doing something on a smaller scale than full quests but still getting the intent across; like exposition from Lotus to give context for stuff, some form of multi-media thing like comics, or even just something like being able to ask Cephalon Simaris about past events and stuff.
