I would like to see the concept used in Nidus' storyline developed to the next step after. Symbiotic infested like the kind used by the Tenno having reached a spot where at some point a cluster of the infestation absorbed something or someone that managed to override it from the inside of their hive mind and split them into a benign strain of their infection.
It would then aim to enhance and co-exist with pre-existing organisms rather than absorb and weaponize them.
Say like an Unum-type character having been taken by the infestation.
So they'd become a type of cult that would only take new members who would willingly want to join their ranks and give up a part of themselves into a less overwhelming hive mind that would still allow them to keep a share of their own personality.
They then would have as a result evolved a complete sub-culture where their tools, homes, maybe even clothes are just infestation spores taking on that role for the larger purpose of their colony, and they would be able to also "infest the infested" with enough exposure turning them benign.
However the opposite would also be true, so they would be locked into constant conflict with the Lephantis Infested in an attempt to be "re-taken" as above all else they would be seen as a major threat by it.
It would hype the sin out of me, specially if it retroactively expanded the faction to become a thing on say, Invasion conflicts.
