Nora Knight Transmission Theory

Warframe6 - Nora Knight Transmission Theory

It has been my astute observation that many folks have been providing theories on what Knight's transmissions actually mean. I have formulated my own theories, and I have listed them here.

Prior to listing those theories though, here is a handy guide to the quotes I will be talking about:

1) "It can be tough as a kid. All sorts of people have it over you. People will kill you inside, kill you and forget your name. You grow up. They grow old. You remember. They don't. They just keep doing what they've always done. Only to someone else. Then, one day, they call you friend. And you wait. And you wait. You wait 'til they can't trust you any more than they do. And then you ask them if they enjoyed their dinner. And, looking into their panicked eyes as they gasp their last, you tell them your name. And you nod. 'Yeah', your eyes say to theirs. 'That was me'. And then you leave. And the System is a better place. Be smart, Dreamers."

2) "In a world like this, it can be hard to have hope, when the man owns the system and the system serves to save the man, from us. But I'm here, Dreamers. To help you pierce that false fog. We'll chase it away with acts of beauty and – succeed or fail – face the foe, eyes open. As someone once said: If nothing saves us from death, may love at least save us from life."

3) "Hey there, Dreamers. The Devil is home and the shades are up. That's right… it's just you and me, passin' each other slow and with a nod sayin' all that needs sayin'. I'm Nora Night, sayin'… you live with wolves you better act like one."

4) Nora here. The Red King is at the dance. But listen… as you drift between the stars Nora wants you to know you ain't alone. Mm-mm. We're all of us a kinda family out here, ain't we? All of us. The multitudes. Driftin' and listenin'. But you need to remember: It never troubles the wolf how many the sheep may be. It never. Troubles. The Wolf.

All of these quotes can be found here: https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Nora_Night

Now, on that same wiki, there is some trivia listed all the way at the bottom of the page. Trivia is always nice for bars, but I think it actually reveals something about Knight and what she is saying. Lets start off with the Red King.

According to the wiki (https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Nora_Night):

"The Red King<...>" is a reference to Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" saga, in which the main antagonist, The Crimson King, is pulling the strings from the shadows, in order to destroy all the universes connected to the Tower. One of the ways he does this is by a group of mounted robots known as Grey Wolves."

All things considered this is a pretty interesting piece of trivia. The reason why I find this interesting is because of the robotic wolves bit. In many ways, the sentients are robotic wolves. As Knight mentions in her transmissions "you need to remember: It never troubles the wolf how many the sheep may be. It never. Troubles. The Wolf." Per the allegory, minus the robotics, wolves don't care how many sheep there are in a herd – it knows its going to eat and the sheep can't fight back.

The sentients must surly know the same thing, seeing as the are sentient, and the only known things that can defeat these damn things are the Tenno, and our Warframes. Enter that convienent little piece of trivia – the sentients are robotic wolves. Now, we also know that in accordance to The New War (TNW) trailer, there is an army of sentients amassing somewhere for what I can only imagine to be an attack. I could also only imagine that the king of this army is Hunhow, and that brings me to the Red King.

Many prominent youtubers have noted that The Red King could be Rell, Harrow, or even the Wolf of Saturn 6. I don't really like the idea of Saturn 6, it doesn't make sense to me. Rell is a solid option because Harrow looks like a king, but isn't really a king at all (in negation to the Red Veil and his followers). This leaves Hunhow, the king of the sentient army, the king of the wolves.

As for the next theory, I shall be referencing "Hey there, Dreamers. The Devil is home and the shades are up. That's right… it's just you and me, passin' each other slow and with a nod sayin' all that needs sayin'. I'm Nora Night, sayin'… you live with wolves you better act like one." Knight is giving us a warning here, nothing more. Tenno are season warriors, yet fundamentally teenagers. The sentients are seasoned warriors, hardened by isolation and hungry to seek revenge upon the Tenno. If we want to fight the wolves/sentients in this war, then we have to act like the wolves/warriors we are.

The quote: "It can be tough as a kid.

"People will kill you inside, kill you and forget your name." is super important in my mind. As we know in The Sacrifice, The Tenno are mixed with the Helminth virus (either that or it is infested… I forget… but it is some virus thing). In a literal sense, they killed us inside because they altered what makes us Orokin and made us a Tenno – our biology. Then, we were deployed as weapons of war (by proxy, in our Warframes), to kill the Sentients. Our names were forgotten, as we were mere tools for the Orokin's survival.

"They grow old. You remember. They don't. They just keep doing what they've always done. Only to someone else… Then, one day, they call you friend… looking into their panicked eyes as they gasp their last, you tell them your name. And you nod. 'Yeah', your eyes say to theirs. 'That was me'. And then you leave. And the System is a better place. Be smart, Dreamers."

I wonder if this is in regards to Ballas. Ballas made the Excal Umbra – the OG frame. He then continued to make frames, and in Chrimera Prolouge he seeks the help of the Tenno. Despite the wrongs he has done, his attempts to kill the Tenno, he now calls us friends in the quest to destroy the Lotus and the sentient army. I wonder if Knight is telling us we should have killed Ballas in TS, or if we should kill Ballas for the wrongs he has done to us? I'm on the fence here.

Finally though, there is a clue to the origin of Knight in one of her quotes.

"I'm here, Dreamers. To help you pierce that false fog. We'll chase it away with acts of beauty and – succeed or fail – face the foe, eyes open. As someone once said: If nothing saves us from death, may love at least save us from life."

Acts of beauty is a very Orokin thing to say. Especially when chasing away deceit, or corruption – both of which could be seen as "impure." I know it is semantics, but I don't think anything Knight is saying is BS. I think it is engineered.

As a super, uber, last quote for analysis (I promise), Knight says that the "Hey there, Dreamers. The Devil is home and the shades are up." – sounds to me like she knows we are the devils that have been awoken. I then ponder if she is broadcasting to us, or if she is broadcasting everywhere. If everywhere, ok, but why would she do that? If locally, how would she know that we are awoken specifically?

In conclusion:

Night seems to be warning us of a war to come. A big MF of a war, where we will either become wolves, or die as sheep.

You can also re-arrange her transmissions to an ordered conversation too:

Part I

"To all of you driftin' out there in the black, mark the frequency. The time has come to act together. To open our eyes and gaze with utmost clarity past the present and into a future we create. Shoulder-to-shoulder. Mark the frequency."

"Acts of defiance, acts of generosity, acts of sacrifice… this is how we turn this system 'round. I'll take you there, Dreamers. I'll bring you back."

"An echo. From long ago: 'For ten years I have been polishing this sword. Its frosty edge has never been put to the test. Now, I am holding it and showing it to you, sir: Is there anyone suffering from injustice?' Keep livin', Dreamers."

Part II

"Hey there, Dreamers. You hearin' me? I know you are. No need to say anythin'. A hand in yours, a voice for the speechless, a bedtime story for the sleepless. The name's Nora Night, and I got somethin' to say, sweet things. Nightwave is coming."

Hey there, Dreamers. The Devil is home and the shades are up. That's right… it's just you and me, passin' each other slow and with a nod sayin' all that needs sayin'. I'm Nora Night, sayin'… you live with wolves you better act like one."

"A voice in the night, a half-remembered dream, rising to the surface of your consciousness, from backbrain to forebrain, a sound to a vision, pullin' up and… knockity-knock. Hello, Dreamers. Let's get to know one another."

Part III

"It can be tough as a kid.

"In a world like this, it can be hard to have hope, when the man owns the system and the system serves to save the man, from us. But I'm here, Dreamers. To help you pierce that false fog. We'll chase it away with acts of beauty and – succeed or fail – face the foe, eyes open. As someone once said: If nothing saves us from death, may love at least save us from life."

"Nora here. It never. Troubles. The Wolf."
