Lots of posts piling on Fatshark lately, but it is mostly deserved. Many of us nolifes who put in absurd hours into the game and understood its deep flaws months ago issued warnings about what Fatshark needed to change very fast or the player base would soon collapse. We were downvoted, told to chill, called whiners, etc. But now that the rest of the community has caught up to us nolifes in time played and run into the same problems the opinion has shifted.
Instead of dedicating themselves to fixing a still buggy PC game (e.g. it is unacceptable that Spinemanglr can still be cheesed by not meleeing him in a corner, Ratsnikt can be knocked off map for win or bug out, Chaos Spawns bug out and stop attacking you while having a seizure), Fatshark rushed out a console port with even more bugs. Then took a vacation.
Now they've been back from vacation for over a week and won't even give us an honest communication about what exactly they are working on and when we can expect it.
The Mod experiment was a failure, the mods that have been approved add very little to the game. Red weapons that don't have skins still don't have skins. You're lucky if you get 1 hat per 100 hours played, and it seems this droprate was specifically kept absurdly low so that Fatshark could sell us cosmetics in the future, but now there are very few players to actually sell cosmetics to.
So many lessons not learned from Vermintide 1. Duplicate reds, endless accessories. Useless traits, properties and talents that are a pain to reroll. Things like fog walls preventing you from rezzing teammates and causing an artificial wipe simply because the last man standing lacks the dps to kill a Troll – all because Fatshark decided they wanted a lazy way to discourage speed runners, and refusing to change this decision – this treatment of players is simply unacceptable.
I love the game and the world that Fatshark has created, but as a company they aren't capable of giving the property the treatment it deserves to really satisfy players.
Thus I am requesting that Fatshark simply sell the IP to another company that has a better track record. I don't have a recommendation off the top of my head, maybe you can think of one in a reply.
If Fatshark is unwilling to do this then I motion we petition Games Workshop to cancel Fatshark's Warhammer license and move it to another studio.
I don't know the specifics of their contracts, but I'd assume that Games Workshop retains the ultimate rights over any property Fatshark has developed. There have been some crappy Warhammer games in the past, but what really damages a brand more than that is a product that is so close to being something amazing yet still frustrates and disappoints customers.
