Sorry, tried to get this up a few days ago, but it's been hard to find time. Rushed it a bit, or I might never have got it posted!
May was a bit of an On-Track disaster with lots of bugs with the WZ-132-1, followed by a new requirement of 25k XP per day in order to progress, which was applied to both the WZ and Sheridan On-Tracks. I'm happy to report that TragicLoss has told me that the June On-Tracks will NOT have a daily 25k XP requirement!!! UPDATE: Tragic just provided a correction on today's stream and said there is still a daily requirement, but it's 10k XP now instead of 25k XP! Better, but it still seems like an unnecessary change, and I can't think of a reason why anyone would look at a daily XP requirement as a positive.
Okay, moving on to what we're getting! According to the June Preview, it'll be the AMX M4 mle. 54 followed by the T110E5. These tanks were 20th and 32nd on the due list, so a bit of my stretch, but last month, I did actually predict the T110E5 to be On-Track exactly where we're getting it, but only because they were running out of American tanks to represent Independence Day, so it was either this or the T92! I had the AMX mle. 54 in my "…..and 5 more" section, so expected it in the not too distant future. Despite there being many more overdue tanks than these two, I think they're reasonably sound picks by WG. Grade B-.
I'm curious which of the Tier II through Tier V lines they'll use for the AMX M4 54 On-Track. They could either start it with the H35 line, the D1 line, or both.
Most Overdue (excluding SPG's)
- Nation: UK, Czech, Russia
- Class: Medium, TD
- Nation/Class Combo: Japan/Heavy, France/TD,
/Light, China/Medium, UK/Heavy, German/TD, China/Heavy
- Tanks: Grille 15, Type 5 Heavy, Strv 103B, E 50 Ausf. M, T-100 LT, Rheinmetall Panzerwagen, AMX 30 B, 121
June will be the first month since January that doesn't include a Light Tank On-Track starting or finishing, but I still think we'll get the last two this year, the T-100 LT and the Rheinmetall Panzerwagen.
Since we didn't have the T92 represent Independence Day (as expected), I'm now sure we won't see any SPG's On-Track in 2019, and perhaps not in 2020 either.
In case you missed it last month, we can finally stop hoping/expecting/scratching our heads over a Grille On-Track. I found out the the American office cannot get permission from HQ to have an On-Track for it. That said, gotta keep the stats going! 1105 days since it was released, and 1261 days since this line was last On-Track; a record for a non-SPG. It's going to set a new record by the time I post my predictions next month….
Toward the end of 2018, we saw the Object 277, K-91, and Progetto be On-Track closer to their release date than any tank that's come before. At this point, we could label that a trend, and expect more of the same. There's a few likely candidates, and I had been saying the 60TP was #1, but now we've had the Swedish Mediums released, although there is some redundancy with the Kranvagn line, and that was just On-Track in December. Going back a bit further, we have the Object 705A, Object 268 v.4, and Object 430U. All of those would feel far too soon, but at this point in time, no longer a surprise.
Random stat (updated), and somewhat following on from the above paragraph, we have 12 Tier X tanks which have never been On-Track. Of those, 3 are entire lines which have never been On-Track, 4 are where only the Tier X of the line hasn't been On-Track, and the other 5 have one or more new or moved tanks in their line which also haven't been On-Track. We should expect some of these, particularly the newer releases to be wild cards.
I'd been saying the Strv 103B needed to be On-Track, because it never has been and is certainly overdue, and so was Sweden, but after December's Kranvagn On-Track, we'll probably have a wait a while longer. It's still the 3rd most overdue overall, so you'd think it still can't be that long, unless they decide to already give us an On-Track for the new Medium line first, and make us wait even longer. I know a lot of players had the 2016 Christmas discounts on this line, but that's 2.5 years ago, and a lot of new players have joined since then, making those discounts irrelevant to a lot of players.
On the Heavy front, the Type 5 is the only one that's due any time soon, but I do wonder if, like the Grille, they couldn't get permission to have it On-Track due to the controversial nature of the derp guns. However, maybe the gun rework has opened up this possibility, though players probably don't need an incentive to play it as they may be excited to try the changes, albeit, I think most don't enjoy playing it as much any more. Beyond the Type 5, the IS-4 is the next most due Heavy Tank, even though I don't necessarily think it will be the next. The Super Conqueror might be a better bet, and it was actually more due than the AMX M4 54. The 60TP and 705A are possibilities as wild cards, as WG have not been consistent with when new tanks go On-Track.
We're fairly overdue for a Russian tank soon, and besides the T-100 LT, one of the Medium lines might be the best candidate. The T-62A is up to 14th on the list, and while the Object 140 isn't close to due, I think they will combine these into one On-Track when the time comes. I could also see the 430U appearing soon. The tank itself has never been On-Track, and it's ~2.5 years since the line was last On-Track. I don't have them listed in my predictions at the moment, but I think we'll see one of these this year.
With France being represented twice this year already, France no longer urgently needs some On-Tracks, but we should still expect to see the AMX 30 B and Foch B in the not too distant future. China do, and I'd be surprised if they wait until the next Chinese New Year (not that they have always seized the opportunity for a Chinese tank to represent that holiday).
Not that it's anywhere close to due, but we could see the Czech line On-Track at some point this year, to coincide with the release of the Tier VIII Czech Medium Autoloader.
We also have some Tier X tanks being re-balanced this year, the E 100, IS-4, Leopard 1, STB-1, AMX 30B, and the Kranvagn was just updated in a recent patch. We've already seen most of those On-Track quite recently, and it would be a shock to see them On-Track again. The exceptions are the AMX 30B & IS-4, which are already approaching overdue territory. While I always think people will play something if it's new and shiny, and there doesn't need to be an extra incentive to play it, WG have often gone in the opposite direction, and might throw in an On-Track on top of everything else.
With the current scheduling, we will often only see one On-Track in a calendar month, and I've accounted for that below.
- Jul: T-100 LT or Rheinmetall Panzerwagen
- Aug: E 50 Ausf. M, Strv 103B
- Sep: Super Conqueror
- Oct: 121, M48 Patton
- Nov: Type 5 Heavy
- Dec: T-62A & Object 140
…..and 5 more: IS-4, AMX 30 B, FV217 Badger, WZ-111 model 5A & 113, 60 TP
Hopefully these help your planning and you can save a bunch of credits! Good luck grinding!
