THERE IS A TL:DR AT THE VERY BOTTOM

This sounds really crazy but hear me out:

THE TITAN OF MATA-NUI

Bionicle happens on the planet of Mata-Nui, and their "god" is also named Mata-Nui. Except the planet is not really a planet, it's a

lifeless-ocean sphere. Oh and the "god" Mata-Nui is only kinda a god, he's just a Great Spirit- essentially a being without physical body created to operate a robot.

Do you see the similiarities yet?

Yup, Mata-Nui is pretty much a Titan, with his body being "the planet" and Great Spirit being the World-Soul.

But let's dive deeper into it, shall we? Literally deeper.

UNDERWATER FUN FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY

Due to reasons (mostly) unrelated to this theory, Mata-Nui is dying. However, there is an artifact that can save him!

Kanohi Ignika, the Mask of Life is the only thing that can heal Mata-Nui. Our equivalent is kinda the Heart of Azeroth, but this isn't the most striking similiarity.

What is important is where the Mask was. After heroes beat the villain of the year, the Mask escaped their grasp and headead (it kinda works like the One Ring) to where the Mata-Nui was the most damaged- and it turned out to be the darkest depths of the ocean.

There lived Barraki-once powerful warlords of the ancient civilisations, they were tricked and imprisoned. Their prison later flooded and because of this they evolved into aquatic creatures.

I'm not saying the naga because this plot isn't really that uncommon, but it does remind you of something, doesn't it?

I believe this is what happens in 8.2- Champions of Azeroth vs naga and Azshara or in Bionicle version, Toa Mahri vs Barraki. If we win, it's over, we can heal the world! We're saved! Right?

Right?

THE N`ZOTH/TERIDAX SCHEME, THE TRUE BATTLE FOR AZEROTH

Obviously, the heroes won the fight. I believe the same will happen in 8.2, we will stop the Naga and Azshara will die or escape. Triumphantly, we will gather all the power in the Heart and use it all to heal/revive our beloved Azeroth.

On the Bionicle side of things, this has just happened, the heroes won against the Barraki, taken the Kanohi Ignika and with sacrifice (RIP Matoro) revived the Great Spirit of Mata Nui.

The problem is that this was all planned by the main villain of Bionicle, Makuta Teridax. The Great Spirit was alive and healthy, but weak. Teridax bound the Spirit to the Mask of Life and literally thrown him into space, while he himself took over the body of Mata Nui, becoming the single god and ruler of the world.

What does it mean in the terms of WoW?

Nzoth planned it all along. We are his agents. The Heart is going to be used to heal the Titan-body of Azeroth, while the World-Soul will be replaced by N`zoth. The Battle for Azeroth is not a battle between Blue vs Red, not a battle for control of the land, it's a battle for control of the literal body of Azeroth. And we're going to lose it,

This is how the first Void Titan will be born, not by corrupting the World-Soul, but by replacing it.

And you know what? We know we'll lose this expansion. And this is the way to lose while winning every raid fight and killing the end-boss

And where will the Azeroth World-Soul go? Well, there is a certain empty dagger….

SPACE, THE FINAL FRONTIER

This was not the end of the Great Spirit of Mata Nui tho. While all of the heroes of the Bionicle were left in an evil-controlled world, the Spirit and Mask found an inhabitated planet, created body for himself, made friends etc. etc.

What's important to us is that he eventually found a broken Great Robot, repaired it and used it to go back through space to kick butt of his own body, which resulted in

pushing his opponent into a moon.

What will happen in Warcraft tho?

Well, from this point on, I'm full on speculating with only a few clues

Bionicle characters lacked the capacity to travel through space. We don't

The Dagger with Azeroth World-Soul will be thrown into the space and we'll follow it. And we're actually lucky-there is an empty, broken Titan body nearby. We're going to use the Red Star left behind to return to Argus and use it against the N`zoth-controlled body of Azeorth.

In the next expansion, I think

Or something entirely else. As someone recently noticed store mounts seem to somehow predate the expansion they originate from. One line from the recently released Vulpine Familiar description makes me feel we're at least going to space into the next expansion

" Fiercely intelligent and insatiably curious, this species of fox has travelled the Great Dark Beyond to seek the companionship of the greatest heroes of Azeroth. "

A fox that can travel through the Great Beyond? I think we're going to meet more like him in patches 9.0+

And now for the complete nonsense!:

MECHAGON WAS MADE TO FIX AZEROTH AND ALSO IS A BIONICLE REFERENCE

But hey, Blizzard always adds references to things, and if the story is so similiar to the Bionicle story, why are there only a few if any Bionicle references

I present to you,
junker gnomes mechagnomes header - Battle for Azeroth story is really similiar to Bionicle G1 story and it's going to end the same way. I think I also know what Battle for Azeroth really means
junker gnome and a matoran, typical Bionicle civilian.

Okay, they're not that similiar, but let's compare the origin of Matoran and the one of the Mechagnomes.

Matoran were created by space-faring Great Beings to maintain and take care the giant Robot. The Mechagnomes (and Earthen and propably Mogu and tons of other races) were created by space faring Titans to maintain and protect the world and the forming World-Soul within.

Want even more?

Why did the portal to Mechagon open right now, when Azeroth is in crysis? Because Mechagon is the facility made to fix the Azeroth if anything happens to her. This is why it's full of Gnomes- they're the "engineers" after all. It's opening is either done by one of the Mechagnomes wanting help in saving Azeroth or it opens automatically when Azeroth's health is in critical state.

Why do the society of Mechagon values robotic parts over the fleshy ones? Because they know (or at least feel) what they were supposed to be- the Curse of Flesh prevents them from doing their job, this is their way of "fighting it". Or at least it was, hundreds of years before, now perhaps they degraded and forgotten why are they doing this.

REASONS (MOSTLY) UNRELATED

I said before that Mata-Nui is dying due to reasons (mostly) unrelated. That is, he was exposed to the Virus made by Makuta Teridax that put him into a long sleep and eventually killed him.

Considering Teridax is an equivalent to N`zoth, what could the Virus be in Warcraft?

The curse of flesh, obviously.

Think about it. All the Titan creations were supposed to protect Azeroth. What are they doing now? Most of them is at war with Horde, some of them are serving kinda deranged Titan keepers and the biggest defender of the Azeroth is a fleshy creation that was transformed back into the Earthen (well, Diamond-en), Magni.

Mechagon gnomes tried to fight this by replacing their fleshy parts with machines but evenetually even they fell to the Curse and the madness that came with it.

So while the Curse of Flesh doesn't directly hurt Azeroth, perhaps stone and metal, mindless servants of Titans could've repaired the damage from the sword of Sargeras already, while in our case the Azeroth is dying because of it.

TL:DR

THERE ARE A TON OF SIMILIARITIES BETWEEN THE BIONICLE LORE AND CURRENT WARCRAFT TITAN LORE

BIONICLE ALSO HAS THEIR "TITANS" AND "WORLD-SOULS"

IN THE UNDERWATER REALM, THE HEROES OF BIONICLE USED A MAGICAL ARTIFACT TO HEAL THEIR "WORLD-SOUL" BUT THE MAIN VILLAIN USED THIS TIME TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE "TITAN BODY" AND THROWN THE WORLD-SOUL INTO SPACE.

THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN AND N'ZOTH WILL REPLACE WORLD-SOUL OF AZEROTH AND PUT IT IN THE DAGGER

THE BIONICLE "WORLD-SOUL" FOUND A NEW BODY IN SPACE AND WENT BACK TO FIST FIGHT HIS OWN BODY BACK

THE VULPINE FAMILIAR MAY BE A CONFIRMATION WE'RE GOING INTO SPACE IN NEXT EXPANSION

AZEROTH WORLD SOUL IS GOING TO TAKE OVER ARGUS TITAN BODY AND FIST FIGHT N`ZOTH (I HOPE)

ALSO THE MECHAGON WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX AZEROTH BUT THEY WENT MAD BECAUSE OF CURSE OF FLESH AND BEGAN CUTTING OFF THEIR LIMBS TO REPLACE THEM WITH MACHINES BUT IT DIDN'T STOP THE CURSE
