This is just a simple stats by tier comparison for CV's. I'll provide a DD/CL/BB from the middle of the pack for comparison. Some DD/CL/BB will be better, some will be worse. My source for this is na.wows-numbers.com . It should be noted that these stats include games from pre-hotfix and so current CVs will actually perform worse than these numbers.

If anyone knows of a stats site where I can search stats for only the last week let me know and I'll gladly update this with a new thread with last week only numbers tomorrow.

Visible Trends and Subjective Conclusions:

  • CVs die less than other ships. This should be no surprise just like BBs dying less than DDs should be no surprise.
  • Amount of kills per game is equal or lesser than other ships with the exception orf the Ryoju and the Hakuryu, though it's likely those are no longer exceptions post-hotfixes.
  • Average damage is consistently less than BBs, tending to be roughly at the damage level of CLs.
  • Average experience is slightly higher than other ships.

 

  • CVs only utility is spotting and fighters (which currently suck) to protect allies from enemy CVs. With no Smoke, Hydro, or Radar a CV's options for influencing the battle are "spot the ship" or "kill the ship". Currently they are worse than BBs at killing, having lower damage across the board, in return for their spotting prowess.
  • One could argue that finishing off wounded ships is utility. Their ability to finish off wounded ships appears to be what evens the average kills per game between BB and CV. BB do alot more damage, but CV can finish off ships that escape out of LOS or out of range of other ships.
