Next game tutorial should be BB positioning and you.

WorldOfWarships2 - Next game tutorial should be BB positioning and you.

Due to the slow speeds of most BBs positioning is one of the most important skills to learn with a BB. Starting out on the USN line with its slow ass ships until tier 8 its something I had learned after getting annoyed with never being were the action is or way over extended on a flank and dieing a fiery flooding wreck. Alot of people complain about bb camping but at least they are shooting at stuff. Positioning of course is important in all ships but with BB's it takes a long time to correct poor positioning.

I swear almost every match if there is a island on the east or west flanks of a map one or more bbs will go sailing behind it. Which leads to two possible outcomes. 1. The cap is not really contested so they have basically removed them selves from the match. They are way out of position unable to fire on anything due to the island. It also it takes them forever for to reposition so they can effectively support the next cap. 2 or the enemy team are pushing that cap and that BB runs into several reds cruisers and dds trying to flank behind that island which never ends well for that BB. The rest of the team can't help since they are cut off behind that island. Yes there is odd time you can push through and get a nice flank but it takes a really good player with great map awareness and some luck to pull that off. I am of the mind in general it's poor tactics to go behind those flanking islands with most ships, but at least cruisers and dds have the speed to get back to a more useful position or disengage if they run into to many reds. If the reds want to do that, let them they are removing them selves from the match no need to battle them behind those islands focus on the other ships. You have the number advantage now.

When I play a BB I aways try to position my self between the a/b cap or c/b cap until I see what the reds are doing. I rarely go farther west or east of the 3 or 7 lines. That makes it easy to re-position my self to support next cap. So if the reds have been pushed off of the cap l am sailing towards. I can start sailing to the next cap quickly to support it. Since I have kept my self in a central position. Yet I often see bbs and other ships continuing to dog pile into a cap that has been won or continue to push way out into the 1 or 10 line all the while the reds are sailing in the opposite direction.

Another biggy is players in bbs that spwan on the outer edge and sail across to the cap on the other side of the map. I was baffled the first time I saw some one do that. Dude If you spawn at C support C and get into a position that let's you shoot at B as well.

Positioning is as much of a key skill as angling and using the right amo types. Some tutorials to get the concept into players heads would help alot i think.

I am not a great player just a alright player I have 48-55% win rates in my most played ships. I make mistakes usally do to with being the first BB to arrive on the next contested cap while the rest of the team is still dog piling into the previous cap. So I got to learn some patience with that. Trying to get better day by day.
