I don't want to be a Debbie Downer but all the posts showing off what people have got from containers they have bought is not healthy.
It's not that I'm not happy for you, it's great your excited about your new ships and I'm pleased that you got something that you wanted.
All the posts showing new ships gives a false sense of the drop rates and accidentally misleads people that they are almost guaranteed a win. Of course this is not the case and the drop rates of ships as always are unknown but anecdotally are as low as always compared to other prizes.
Naturally people who win want to shout about it. But people who didn't win are much less likely to post a picture of 7 flags. And even if they do it's less likely to gain traction and rise to the top of the subreddit.
Posting a ship drop seems innocuous enough, but what it's actually doing is encouraging gambling. If it's from a free super container sure, but paid for containers benefits no one except wargame.
There's a large group who may have been on the fence over buying some containers and seeing other people have had good luck may be enough to push them to buy them. They might get what they want, but more likely they don't and the only person who gains is wargame.
However for a smaller percentage of people, they see people winning and they bite. They buy containers. They like the last group might not get what they want. But differently to the last group that's not where this story ends. This group of people have a gambling problem. And seeing how 'easy' everyone else is winning ships they just assume that they were unlucky and if they buy a few more crates they will definitely win. And with every set they buy that they don't get what they want they are more sure that what they do want must be in the next set. Of course this is false, your chance is exactly the same low low % on each roll. Statistically its more likely you will have had a win the more you gamble, but the chance of winning on your 100th roll is still the same as it was on your 1st.
Gambling addiction is a disease, I have a colleague who spent £1400 to get a specific player in FIFA. He's the same person who will put his last £10 in the roulette machine because he 'knows' it's due a big pay out as he's already put £300 in it.
I know that no-one is meaning to cause any harm with these posts, but know that there's a good percentage of people here who only need a tiny amount of encouragement to spend their entire wage on loot crate gambling and the only people benefiting from you posting that encouragement is wargame.
