In the most recent dev blog (DM for link), the new map 'Bering Sea' and game mode 'Breakthrough' were discussed. Although it was only revealed a few days ago, with what I've seen so far I think that the new map has its flaws, and they need to be seen to if this map and game mode is going to be enjoyable.

For those who haven't seen, this is the new map in Breakthrough mode.

As you can see, both teams start on the same side of the map, with several islands separating both teams. In 'Breakthrough', both teams have to race to the opposite end of the map to cap the objective. Although this concept seems good on paper, and I will admit that I like the idea as well, with the map's current layout there are several issues. For one, Destroyers and light Cruisers can quickly move through the cluster of islands separating the two teams and, if successful, be able to tail the slower ships like Battleships and Heavy Cruisers for most of the game, keeping them spotted. Albeit this can be countered by Radar.

Red X's: Areas where both teams would engage each other if both have ships attempting to flank.")

The next problem with this map is the routes both teams have to take to reach the capture point. Blue team's route is fairly safe, with multiple islands that can be used for protection against enemy artillery. Meanwhile, Red Team's route is at first also protected, but eventually becomes a pain to follow. As Red Team progresses along the map, they reach what I'm going to call the 'Dead Zone'. This Dead Zone has little to no cover, and can easily be used by Blue team to safely bombard Red team whilst using the cover provided by their plentiful islands.

Blue Circle: Cover which slower ships like Battleships and Heavy Cruisers can use to bombard Red Team (due to them being slower than the Destroyers which are able to get to the Yellow circle before them). Red line: Fastest route which Red will have to take without going head-on against Blue team. Purple circle: Dead Zone which Blue team can fire at Red team with ease.")

So, in conclusion, these are the major issues that I've found when taking a close look at the new map. Personally, I do like the general idea of it and I also think that this will be fun to play for people who like all out chaos since both teams will be close to each other for most, if not the entire game. At that, I also think that Breakthrough is an interesting concept for a new game mode and I'm eager to see what new maps Wargaming might add to accommodate for this new game mode. If these issues which I've pointed out can be resolved, even not entirely, I think that this'll be a fun map for most people.
