A Setting Idea for the Next Battlefield Game!

Okay, so we all know that BFV was an incredibly underwhelming game, to say the least. I would, however, argue that this had NOTHING to do with the setting. Clearly, based on Battlefield 1 and BFBC2 Vietnam, DICE has the ability to do historical periods some serious justice. That being said, let me propose an idea for the next installment's setting…

…..The ENTIRE DURATION of the Cold War, from the late 1940s to 1991. Think about it! This would give the team some incredible leeway to add all sorts of exotic and cool weapons, factions, and locations. During the Cold War, there were a number of interesting and diverse conflicts, including (but not limited to):

-The Arab-Israeli Wars (1940s) -The Korean War (1950s) -The Vietnam War (1960s-1970s) -The South American Civil Wars (1970s-1980s) -The Afghan-Russo War (1980s) And that's just the tip of the iceberg- not even touching on the endless number of sidebar conflicts in Africa and the Middle East, Chinese expansion, and countless deniable operations carried out by NATO and the Soviet Union.

The factions could include: -The IDF -The Arab League -The Chinese Army -The North and South Korean Armies -NATO Coalition Forces -The US Army -The French Army -The British Army -The NVA / Viet Cong -The Russian Army -The Contras -The Sandinistas -The Mujahideen

The weapon roster could look something like that of Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010), but with the addition of some of Battlefield V's weapons (The Arab-Israeli war was fought almost entirely with leftover World War 2 weapons) and some later weapons from the late 1970s and 1980s, like the m240b or the m249 SAW, or the G36 rifles, etc.

Setting a battlefield game in this period could fix a number of issues that people had with the limited setting of BFV and could mitigate a number of issues. It would also be a perfect "sequel" to BFV, as it was to BF1 (with some holdover weapons and the game's presentation early in its lifespan), AS WELL AS paving the way for the next game in the franchise, which could be set during Iraq/Afghanistan or a fictional modern conflict. (Not to mention, it would give a reason for them to add all sorts of awesome weapons and gadgets that they clearly wanted to add into battlefield V, such as the M3 Carbine and the Sterling). The war stories mode could also be bolstered by presenting stories from throughout the almost 40-year period, which would introduce each conflict's/era's weaponry, belligerents and background. Oh, and a sick soundtrack, with a mix of 50s rock 'n' roll, 60s Vietnam-era motown and rock, classic rock, and into the 80's with synth pop (think like the collectable tapes in MGSV) all mixed in with that signature epic setting-oriented orchestral soundtrack from Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V.

Let me know what you guys think! It took a long time to think all this up, but I feel as though it would be a perfect step forward for DICE and a good possibility to do something never-before-seen and to win back the community's trust and good graces, like what they did with Battlefield 1 after Hardline.
