Since decoy climbing is now patched, there's no point in trying to hide it from DICE. This is my personal screenshot collection of everywhere I was able to reach on various maps in the last two weeks. I accomplished all of these climbs solo, and mostly in empty servers as it took time to find these spots. Climbing is a thing of the past now and this is a memorial for when decoys were actually slightly useful, so please enjoy.
The top of the central hangar on Aerodrome. 4 decoys were used
The first skybox I found on Devastation. This one took a lot more building climbing and only required 2 decoys
The second skybox above the library on Devastation. This one was also more about the building and took 3 decoys
The third and final Devastation skybox above the train cars. A two stage climb that took 7 total decoys
The window above the cathedral doors on Devastation. This one took 6 decoys in total
More windows in the cathedral, 3 decoys were used
The sign above the movie theater. 5 decoys were used
The scaffolding by the front of the cathedral. Another 5 decoy climb
The bridge on Rotterdam. Only took 3 decoys
The first set of rooftops I reached on Rotterdam. This climb took me a few days to figure out where to launch from and took 5 decoys in a second stage
The other rooftops, I simply mirrored the climb on the other side of the bridge
The roof of Rotterdam's train station. 3 decoys used
The silos on Panzerstorm. Another 2 stage climb that took 5 decoys
The stone tower by the British side on Panzerstorm. A two stage climb that took 8 decoys
The first part of the mountain I reached on Fjell about two weeks ago . The route was eventually shortened to 2 decoys
The other side of the mountain base, no further decoys were needed
The second part of the mountain. A second stage of 4 decoys was needed
The peak of the highest mountain on Fjell. A third stage of another 5 decoys was needed. The total climb took about 10 minutes, and is the highest in bounds spot one can reach without using aircraft
Another shot of the more recognizable mountain spot that most defenders climb in the second sector. As you can see, this peak is far higher up. Reaching here is my personal testament to climbing in BFV. As far as I know, no one else ever reached this high without bailing out of an aircraft
I don't really care what you think about doing this, these spots were hard to get to, and any tactical advantage became a burden as soon as someone looked up and noticed you, most of these spots had little to no cover. I could go to some of these spots in actual games, but they provided little advantage beyond spotting. Staying alive and killing was difficult in most spots as you quickly became a priority target (my platoon found this out the hard way). Remember, this stuff is not possible now, decoys can no longer be stacked or even stood on as of today's patch (2/13/19). I didn't bother sharing this many pictures until now in hopes that this feature would go unnoticed by DICE for as long as possible.
Credit to The Mountain Goats (
) for inspiring me to do things like this. These guys worked as a group and could go pretty much anywhere they wanted on any map. I reached where I could as a solo climber.
