DISCLAIMERS:

THIS IS ONLY FOR THE BLOG POST SHOWN ON TODAY'S PATCH NOTES, THE ACTUAL THING ISN'T EVEN OUT YET AND I CAN BE COMPLETELY WRONG ON WHAT I SAY! THIS IS MOSTLY FROM PURE SUSPICION, I WILL PROBABLY MAKE ANOTHER ONE WHEN THE ACTUAL THING COMES OUT, THIS IS JUST FROM WHAT I HAVE READ!

WHY AM I DOING THIS?

As
FoxHoundFPS - Constructive Feedback for Contracts/Reserves.u/FoxHoundFPS has said with his comment he's perfectly fine with criticism and not fine with bandwagoning. So, I'm going to make my criticism for the contracts, very formal, clear, concise, no possible bandwagoning, and I'm making this very straight forward that there is no possible way this can be misinterpreted.

Also, I know he is not the person in charge with the microtransactions but, he is the man who forwards it to Treyarch as seen with this comment and this other comment. So please don't shoot the messenger.

I'm probably talking to a brick wall but okay, now let's get into it.

Positives of the new Contracts system

What Can be Improved

Now, this all could be already implemented for all I know and the criticisms I make can be false, but, this is just in case they aren't implemented, it would be nice for them to forward it to the ones in charge of this.

  • Weapon Bribes
    • As seen in this sub + youtubers, people are PISSED that MKII weapons are in the weapon bribe reserves making it a lot less likely to earn the new weapons. I personally got the Cordite MKII in my Weapon bribe which was a pain.
    • There is honestly 2 things you can do to remove this criticism
      • Have Weapon Contracts: WWII Weapon bribes had variants, HOWEVER, weapons could still be earned via collections or contracts making it less of a problem. OR, YOU CAN
      • Remove MKII Variants from weapon bribes: MKII weapons are nothing but a camo with a 25% XP bonus for that weapon. There is no reason for them to be in there in exception to greed.
  • Duplicates
    • Dupes are a thing, this is already a mistake as Free to Play games already make loot boxes at 1/2 the price and promise dupe free items while giving the odds for what rarity it is to earn items.
      • Now, I know you'll probably never remove duplicate items for this game no matter how scummy that is, but, at least
      • Make contract reserves dupe free: This would alleviate some of the complaints as you're potentially earning 1 free item a day without worrying about duplicates as
  • Reserve Crates
    • With contracts showing up, I honestly thought you guys would at least have 1 Reserve Crate Contract, however, they are yet again nonearnable and is still behind a paywall and is still objectively the worst supply drop in COD history as back then a $2 supply drop would guarantee a Rare or higher, where on this, it's possible to get 3 common items. Remember there are over 1,100 items in these reserves. This is due to you guys making each camo, charm, facepaint, skin, and death effect per Weapon/Specialist, 12 items a day + maybe 2-3 from normally grinding is not going to help at all. At least a
    • Weekly Reserve Crate Contract per mode will help deal with the filler items.
  • XP Contracts
    • Last time I checked, I never saw any complaints about the XP gain in this game. Why do people care about doing XP exclusive contracts, you already provided double XP weekends.
    • Unless you guys are planning Tiers XP based, I see little to no purpose on XP contracts as it's just there to take space.
    • Yes WWII had it, but again, they have so many challenges to choose from and so many ways to earn items, that it never really mattered.
  • Black Ops Pass
    • Just bring back 2x tier or make it 1.5x tier, that was literally all you needed, it was amazing.

Now, this is just my 2 cents on what I've seen so far for contracts. There are still many problems with this model, but, these are the top glaring issues imo, so yeah…
