Can Luna’s howl and NF Get some love now?

destiny2 7 - Can Luna's howl and NF Get some love now?

So when forsaken launched, and Both NF and Luna's were released, they were 180 hand cannons with a .67 TTK.

In SoO they were nerfed to be 150 HC and had Mag-Howl only affect Body damage. I don't even know what the current TTK of them is, let's just say it's not competitive (from my experience) with the current auto meta.

Currently 600 RPM autos have a TTK of .7 seconds. LH and NF had a .67 TTK in their prime. Only a .03 second difference. The thing is though, Hard light has a .7 from any range, and Suros fully spun up has a TTK of .4. Huckleberry and Terrabah have a TTK of .67, not including ravenous beast or rampage/ride the bull. Hell, no feelings has a .67 TTK if you get the right roll. 150s currently have a .8 TTK, but something like a decent rolled spare rations absolutely outranges NF to the point where not even the Mag howl range boost will save your TTK.

So I don't think that buffing these weapons back to their former glory will result in game breaking TTKs. There are weapons out there which have faster TTKs, and are more forgiving than these 2 hand cannons.

These 2 weapons are arguably the hardest pinnacle weapons to get, and should have some rewarding features. Currently all you get is a 150 that has mediocre range, a 180 recoil pattern, and can 2 head 1 body. There is barely any incentive to use them. Plus you don't actually get the bonus of +5% agility that comes with other 150s. Usage on these weapons is diminishing by the day, and they're already kind of pointless to go for, at least on PC. I want to say it's a different story on console, but with the rise of an auto meta, the only things really being used are autos and other 150 HCs. I rarely see LH/NF in the wild anymore, and it's sad.

I do think they should be returned to their Forsaken status, but with a few changes. First off they should be 180s again, second, I think that Mag Howl should be less forgiving. Take away it's ability to do increased body damage. Make it so it rewards precision, and not just getting your 2 headshots and spraying. Keep it so mag howl goes away if you miss, so it is rewarding to precision, again. This makes it so you can get the 3 tap on the head, resulting in a .67 TTK, but if you miss the head and hit the body, you have to go for the longer TTK. This is what I think would be a good change for them. And, if worst comes to worst, return them to their Forsaken state, but sunset them, making it so they can be used in IB or Trials. I've been told that if they were to be reverted, they would be the only guns used on console, and I don't think that's true. If autos and other 150s were kept at their current levels, and with the change of them only doing bonus precision damage, I think that they'd have even usage with everything else.

These weapons are tedious to get, and in their current state, I don't think anyone can recommend wasting your time to get them, and that sucks, because they're such a cool concept, and great looking guns. It's a shame.
