An edit to Preface this suggestion:
Thank you for all of the upvotes! now to all the commenters saying I am asking for easier flawless:
I have both the unbroken and flawless seal. "easier" is relative to skill level. it would still be a card based system that would see teams going up against the best of the best in their skill level until that skill level happens to be at the top of the remaining players for the weekend. they will still have to sweat for it.
It makes the experience of the playlist more inclusive by taking an experience that is currently IMPOSSIBLE for many, and making it POSSIBLE with hard work and good communication.
Anyone who plays destiny should be able to have the experience I've had of a Game 7, edge of your seat, 4-4 tiebreaking round to go to the lighthouse and clutching it. It's so much fun and so exhilarating and even when you lose those games, you had a blast on the way there and you are excited to try again, because now in this system, you won't be going against the victors on your next lighthouse game, but another team that might be slightly better or slightly worse than you.
Either team has a chance for victory, and that is what matters the most when it comes to competitive. It's why Boxing locks people into weight categories, and different sports have Amateur competition levels all the way up to pro. This is a fucking video game. People play it to have fun. let the people have fun. let them go up against people of their caliber to fight it out for the title, instead of constantly putting the amateurs against the pros and introducing skill creep to the point that the almost pros become the amateurs.
Also please stop saying that they need to give loot for losses. that's only paying people for their pain to keep them around to get stomped while not having fun at all.
— end edit.
Ok so at first, All players would face off against whoever, just like we have now. but as soon as 1 character goes flawless on an account, that person's account can now only play trials in the sweaty pool BUT for a higher amount of tokens per game and better loot for repeat flawlesses. Yes, if 1 or 2 people on a team have gone flawless that weekend, they will have a slightly tougher time carrying, but it wouldn't be any worse than it is now, and all players on that team would get the bonus rewards/better loot.
As the weekend progresses, the initial pool gets smaller and smaller, with less and less cheaters/sweaty players to compete against provided you are running a whole fireteam of people who haven't gone flawless that week.
Trials fixed, IMO.
