Feats For Kratos and GoW Characters

God of War 3 - Feats For Kratos and GoW Characters

So I have seen a lot of Vs fights including Kratos in them, but I've noticed a lot of people don't actually know how strong Kratos and GoW characters are, so I decided make a post about some feats, strap yourself in because it's a long one. I should probably add this to the character rant section now that I think about it, so I might do that at a different time, although I feel like many may not be receptive to some of the things I talk about.

This will probably be just about the Greek Saga, I may make one for the Norse Saga later, but we only have one game for that so it will be a lot shorter than this one.

Since this post is so long, I have decided to break down different categories into multiple posts so this will just be strength, with a little bit of durability included, I'll probably combine some other categories together later so I don't have like 5 different posts.

Strength: As everyone knows Kratos lifts, like a lot, but people don't know quite how strong he is, many think he is easily in the tens of thousands ton range, which he for sure is, but I'm going to show that he is way above that. Let's look at his arguably best Feats, stopping Atlas and Cronos from crushing him, most people know about these ones and think they are really good, and they are, but it is way better than at first glance. Firstly the Earth has a mass of about 5.972 sextillion tons, or about 1,000 trillion tons, and it is currently increasing, in fact it is probably higher than this now, but the point is this is a massive number, a 1 followed by 21 zeros is one sextillion. Obviously the Greek version of Earth in GoW is probably different since it is flat instead of round, so we can't say it is this heavy. However, I think it is actually far heavier and larger than the real Earth and here's why.

  1. Firstly, due to the size of Mt. Olympus, if you were weren't aware it is about 9,000 miles tall, we get this since we know it takes a human 3 full days just to fall from the top of it and actually make it to the bottom of the mountain. Here is a scan https://i.imgur.com/jgSDoTr.jpg it is the text with the red box around it. This means a lot because it would add a significant amount of weight to the planet, because Mt. Everest is about 29,002 feet tall, though this is debated a lot, this would make it roughly 5.5 miles tall, now compare 29,002 feet to how tall Olympus would be, which is about 47,520,000 feet tall. With a weight of around 113 trillion tons Everest is very heavy, although I may be wrong about the weight, I know it's definitely in the trillions of tons range though. That is a lot of weight, but imagine how heavy Olympus is then considering it is 8,994.5 miles taller than it. It is likely easily in the Quintillions of tons range, which is just one unit of measurement under sextillion, making it a decent chunk of the real world Earth's weight. This is even better when you realize that there are other mountains that are shown to be not as tall, but around half or a quarter the size of Olympus, which would still make them far larger than Everest.
  2. Secondly, The desert of Lost Souls in the first game must be absolutely massive, considering that Cronos, the 500 meter tall Titan was never able to accidentally wander out of it despite him being in it for a thousand plus years, and as shown https://i.imgur.com/ou43eN0.jpg there are sand dunes his size or even bigger than him. This is also a great Feat for Ares from the first game since he was able to throw a column from Athens all the way to the desert pretty easily and quickly, and that cutscene also shows how far it must be since in Athens it is night time, but way off in the desert the sun is still up.
  3. Thirdly, The speed of the Pegasus in GoW 2, it takes it about 3 – 5 minutes to get from Rhodes to Mt. Etna which would make it on average around Mach 15, but it still takes it 6 straight days to fly from Mt. Etna to the Edge of the World and Island of Creation https://i.imgur.com/eABAvcr.png this means the Greek version of the Earth in GoW is insanely large, considering things slower than this Pegasus take multiple hours to merely get to another country or state in the US, but despite all this, nothing takes six days, so this again shows how large the GoW world is. This is even more impressive when you realize it takes 6 days for the Pegasus to get to the Edge of the World even though it came more from the middle of the planet, it did not go from one side of the planet to the other, so it took it six days to go maybe less than half as long as the planet actually is. Even if we said the Pegasus isn't going Mach 15 but was going far slower, the fact that it took 6 whole days to get there still shows the planet is far larger than our own.
  4. Lastly, the water in general is far deeper than our actual planet as shown in this video the Titan falls into the water and gets completely submerged, again this thing is 500 meters tall, or about a 1/3 of a mile yet it is taken into unseen depths, and this is near the shore line where it would be shallow compared to the middle of the Ocean, and then a massive Whirlpool forms, this again shows that the GoW world is far larger than our world if even some of the shallow parts are bare minimum 500+ meters deep.

Moving back to the feat now, we know that Atlas holding up the planet is so much better than most think, but it gets even better. https://i.imgur.com/tr0rIQn.jpg This is the final water level at the end of GoW 3, the water has gotten so high it is nearly at the top of Olympus, you know the 9,000 mile tall mountain discussed earlier. Let's think about this, our Earth contains an estimated 326 quintillion gallons of water, for reference that number is this 326,000,000,000,000,000,000 and is again only one unit less than sextillion which would have three more zeroes added to it. Imagine how heavy that would be, now imagine how heavy the added water in GoW is, the fact that water is close to the top of Mt. Olympus and it is 9,000 miles tall would mean that there would likely be a number with more than 30 zeroes added, and the large number beforehand only has 18 zeroes added, so this would make the amount of water in gallons far larger than our planet, also increasing the weight of the GoW planet by a lot.

Yet even with all this water and added weight Atlas is holding up the World as evident by the fact that the Planet hasn't been completely destroyed, which is what would have happened in Chains of Olympus if Kratos didn't chain up Atlas to keep the World on his shoulders. This shows just how strong Atlas is, but the feat gets even better, in the GoW 2 novel it indicates that he would need only one hand to hold up the planet if he had to https://i.imgur.com/14hG8yk.png and this makes sense because in GoW 2 he is shown to be able to grab Kratos with one hand and keep holding up the World with his other three hands with literally no effort, he doesn't struggle to hold it up even though one arm is no longer is helping, so the fact that Kratos is able to overpower him is absolutely incredible, and do remember this Kratos was the one that was depowered since he lost his Godhood and the Blade of Olympus, so he is way weaker than the version that gets the Blade back and GoW 3 Kratos. This is also clear since Kratos in GoW 3 is shown to overpower Cronos's whole arm, and guess what, Cronos is only slightly weaker than Atlas, https://i.imgur.com/RGLDup4.png this is impressive for Cronos especially considering Atlas has four arms while Cronos only has two, and yet Kratos overpowers both of them, and even at one point in the fight punches the Crystal that is holding Pandora's Temple on his back so hard that even when Cronos tries to pull it out of his jaw with both arms he can't

at about 10:15 to 10:23 we see Cronos trying to stop and pull out the Crystal with both of his arms yet Kratos hammers it so hard that it completely overpowers both of his arms and rocks his head backwards. This should show that everyone's strength feats are far better than what most people suspect, this is also a good feat for Zeus since and the end of the game he is clearly strong enough to cause Kratos a lot of effort.

This concludes the first post of feats for Kratos and other GoW characters, hopefully the others won't be as long lol.
