I have a theory about the events of God of War and Ragnarok that was explained in the game.

Alright so in God of War it is explained at the end that Ragnarok wasn't supposed to happen for another 100 years by mimir and something had change this and that the prophecy didn't expect Kratos at all.
Time to put on your tin foil hat and ride the pegasus to hades. My theory is this. Kratos is already in a different time line. Let me explain, in God of war 2 at the beginning kratos fights the Colossus and gets the smack down; After limping half way to the Sword of Olympus, Daddy Zeus, in eagle form, flys down and takes the sword to strike down O spartan boi kratos and kills him.
"Yeah so? What does that have to do with the new God of war?"
EVERYTHING.
This one moment sets a series of events that not even Odin, Zeus, or Groa could have seen. This moment splits the time lines like it belongs in a Legend of Zelda series. Because if you watch that scene again (after playing through it) you notice that when kratos dies, kratos who came back through time, he interrupted Zeus during his monologue, but that didn't happen in the beginning, instead Zeus pulled the sword out and just killed everyone around him with a swing.
"Yeah that's because kratos didn't kill the fates at the start"
Right. Because in that timeline kratos just stayed dead. There was no second kratos who pulled the sword out of his body at the start. He just stayed dead.
"Ok but that doesn't explain why this ties into the new God of war"
Oh but it does. Now obviously we are messing with 2 timelines, one where kratos is dead and another were kratos came back. We are clear on that. Yes? Good. Now groa being the being who can see into the future could see both of the futures. But she didn't. She saw one. The Ragnarok in the time line with kratos is dead, because in chronological order groa was killed long before kratos ever came to being and thus preventing her and in turn Odin from seeing the New Ragnarok. Where kratos is jumpstarting it with the BOY.
"Ok so what about the murals in jotunheim? That's a prophecy about BOY and kratos."
In that you would be correct. After kratos came back from killing the fates and making a new timeline someone else had to have seen the new Ragnarok. Whoever that is we don't know. But what does matter is that everyone who wasn't in jotunheim when that mural was made did not know. Odin didn't know, mimir didn't know, the aesir and vanir, everyone who wasn't a bloody giant in jotunheim did not know. And like Mimir said Odin wants control which means he needs to be right. And when Ragnarok comes and Odin is not prepared for it. He is wrong. And he loses control. And that is why mimir stated that Kratos changed something. And that is why the prophecy didn't count on him being there. Because he is from a different timeline and they only had the prophecy of the timeline where kratos stayed dead.
Edit: Of course this would also imply that there is a 3rd timeline where a bunch of titans just vanished but we aren't talking about them.
