Note: these sets are based on the PS4 version of the game. So if you are playing on PC you might not have some of the gears listed yet.

Some sets work with any weapon of the same class and some sets require the specific weapon listed or a similar one.

The idea of these builds is to have sets that do not require rare decorations in order to be decent. However, I will list the ideal decorations anyway so if you have them you can use them.

Augmentation is not being taking into account for these builds and in some builds I am listing only the relevant skills to the build.

Some builds require an Attack Jewel to bring Attack Boost at least at level 4. Everyone has at least 1 Attack Jewel which you get by playing the story.

CHARGE BLADE

  • Diablos Tyrannis II

  • Dodogama Greaves b (if you have magazine jewel use Dante's Leather Boots a)
  • Artillery Charm III

Skills: Attack Boost 6, Artillery 3, Weakness Exploit 2, Capacity Boost

This set works only with charge blades that have impact phials because artillery does not affect power phials.

The idea is to boost the attack of amped elemental discharge (which does not crit btw) by giving one more phial and artillery damage boost. You could also get Death Stench Grip b for Focus 2 to get them phials filled up quickly but you'll be giving up Weakness Exploit which I think is a must for every set. However Dragonking Eyepatch a + Death Stench Grip b keeps you Weakness Exploit 2 and gives you Focus 2 but less attack bonus.

Decorations: Attack Jewel x1, Elementless Jewel x1, Grinder Jewel x2, (add 1 Magazine Jewel and 1 Grinder Jewel with Dante's Leather Boots a)

I think the Nergigante set works pretty well for hammers. You could use Nergigante Helm which gives you that 1 attack to get to 4 without jewels and Max Might 3 as well but you won't have weakness exploit. Max Might 3 though is pretty valuable on hammers for when you go Big Bang combo which doesn't consume stamina. But if you have at least 1 attack jewel I prefer having weakness exploit.

Any hammer is good with this build.

Switch Axes lose sharpness pretty fast especially when using the element discharge. So I wanted to focus on handicraft here.

This set focuses on Xeno divinity which is sweet for bowguns giving you spareshot so you can just spam cluster bombs. Also this build focuses on sticky ammo with artillery 3 and a bit of special ammo for extra damage if you want. If you replace some gear to get partbreaker 3 or top it up with jewels then with Artillery 3 is pretty nice to farm Behemoth Horns and Claws.

If you want to focus only on cluster bombs spam then get 3 close range up mods and replace the artillery jewels with something else. Maybe stun resistance.

TANK BUILD

  • Any weapon (if it has slots fill all of them with Vitality Jewels)

With this build you are pretty much immortal. You'll never need to drink a potion because your health keeps regenerating and with vaal hazak vitality bonus skill you will get to full health by just waiting. Defense boost and divine blessing minimize damage taken and you can pretty much stand in front of a Deviljho and do not nothing and you won't die.

POINTS FARMING BUILD

  • Any weapon (Insect Glaive or Bow if you want to farm some Vespoid or Hornetaur easily)
  • Chainmail Headgear a
  • Rathian Mail a
  • King Beetle Brachia b
  • Commission Belt a
  • King Beetle Crura b
  • Geology Charm III

Decorations: Scent Jewel x1, Specimen Jewel x3, Mirewalker x1

Skills: Botanist 4, Geologist 3, Entomologist 3, Pro Transporter, Master Gatherer, Forager's Luck, Scenthound, Aquatic Expert 1

With this set just go on an expedition in the Elder Recess and go around collecting Beryl Deposits and the red ones. Pick up all tracks and capture endemic life, especially toads give you like 30 points each.

Or go to Wildspire Waste to camp 11 (or a mission with a rathian) and go back and forth from camp 11 to the wyvern egg nest. There are also two hardfruit thingy on the way. Don't worry the Rathian will never come there if you pick up the egg.

Also it wouldn't be a bad idea to active bounties such as bonepiles, mining outcrops or collecting plants, mushrooms and insects before doing this.

Don't forget to bring the Ghillie Mantle!

You do this for like 15 minutes and you will already have 3000+ points per expedition.
