Seeing how you can craft all the weapon types for Deviljho and Lunastra, looking back at some of the base game monsters and I find it a bit odd that some are missing weapon types that would suit them perfectly.
Take Dodogama, the monster that uses Blast damage and explosions quite a lot when fighting it and its armor skills benefits Gunlance quite a lot. So naturally, you can't make a Gunlance or Switch Axe from it, 2 weapons that totally screams "EXPLOSIONS!". Even Bazelgeuse got those 2 weapon types. At least Dodogama still got a Charge Blade to benefits from its armor skills.
Next is Legiana. One of the monster that spends most of its time in the air, moving gracefully and using aerial attacks while fighting and have been compared as the ice counterpart of Rathalos. So of course you can't make the most mobile and aerial attacks based weapon type that is the Insect Glaive from it. Even Dodogama that cannot be called an agile and graceful monster got an Insect Glaive. What even? At least Legiana still got a Longsword and Sword and Shield that are some of the best looking weapons in the game.
Lastly, Uragaan probably got it the worst. Heavily armored like a walking tank and its armor skills have Guard and Guard Up, making its armor sets one of the best for blocking almost anything that the game throw at you. Nothing quite like blocking an entire laser beam attack from Xeno and laughing it off. Therefore, it is only logical that you cannot even make a single weapon types that can block from Uragaan. Not even a Sword and Shield, here, take a Longsword instead. Thank Gog for the Elder Babel Spear, which I think used to be Uragaan's Lance, to matches the look and benefits from the armor skills.
